This work investigates the contributions of the MES -ManufacturingExecution System -for improving the competitive priorities of manufacturing. We present a theoretical framework on the information technologies (IT) and its business importance, the contributions of the organizational factors for the implementation of the MES, as well as the main concepts and the possible applications of this tool. The built theoretical framework was decisive to subsidize the research performance in the studied company. It was verified that the MES significantly contributed to the manufacturing related to improvement of cost, quality, flexibility, conformity and reliability. It was concluded that the MES enriched the information quality generated from the plant floor, i.e., information that makes it fast, standardized, reliable and precise. When integrated to the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) of the company, the MES filled out a gap, offering information IJM&P [http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/us/] Licensed under a Creative Commons Attribution 3.0 United States Licenseother to other functional areas of the organization. The interviews, conducted in businesses departments in the company, showed the importance of the products tracking, and the MES implementation was decisive to improve that issue, concluding that the dimension is considered as a competitive priority of the manufacturing.
The construction industry is a significant economic and productive sector of a country. Due to the importance of the sector, this study is justified not only for the academia, but also for the productive and business circles. Identifying competitive dimensions and comprehend the organizational performance through performance indicators, allows managers to make decisions through these tools, according to the model in which the organization operates, as close as possible to their reality. The present work aims to analyze the application of performance indicators through the competitive dimensions of the construction company. The used research method was a qualitative approach, being of an applied nature, classified according to the objectives of the research in descriptive and explanatory. The procedure used was the review of the literature through scientific articles in the Web of Science data bases, for the last ten years.
With the increasing use of agile methods for software project management and due to the need for process monitoring in organisations, the objective of this paper is to identify how the association of agile software development methodologies with maturity models commonly used in the traditional methodology has been made. Therefore, we sought to identify, through a survey in scientific publications, which maturity models are used and how they are related to the practice of agile software development. It noted to be a subject of more recent study and of interest of the researchers. As a result, two very evident lines of research were identified, one for proposing new process maturity models considering agile methods, and the other about applying agile practices to obtain maturity levels defined by the CMMI.
The objective of this paper is to identify similarities between ISO management systems standards with the intention of management systems integration using the cognitive computing and review of international scientific literature. The Google Scholar and CORE databases were consulted, and the research period was from 2015 to 2019. This is a longitudinal, exploratory and descriptive research that used a review of technical and scientific literature and cognitive computing. Fifty-six publications addressing ISO management systems were selected, in accordance with the terms: standardization, similarity and integration. There is opportunity for studies to develop framework for integrated management systems, standardization and integration of management systems certification.
RESUMOEste artigo teve o objetivo de analisar a aplicação da filosofia Lean na indústria manufatureira no Brasil, no período de dez anos, para estabelecer uma relação quanto às tendências, fatores de sucesso, oportunidades e identificar lacunas na implantação dos processos enxutos. A compreensão desses fatores, permite conhecer o status quo quanto às práticas Lean no contexto produtivo e econômico da indústria brasileira. A relevância desta pesquisa está em proporcionar informações que contribuam para a tomada de decisão e ações estratégicas para a melhoria continua dos processos produtivos. O método aplicado neste trabalho foi a pesquisa qualitativa, descritiva, bibliográfica e com o uso da análise de conteúdo, com categorização "à priori" sob artigos que abordam o tema e obtidos na base Web of Science. Nos resultados e discussões, aplicou-se a análise SWOT, e SWOT cruzada, estabelecendo as relações entre as tendências, fatores de sucesso, oportunidades e lacunas permitindo estabelecer o delineamento de estratégias importantes para o futuro das organizações e, também, propondo possíveis cenários para os gestores estabelecerem suas tomadas de decisão. ABSTRACTThis article aimed to analyze the application of Lean philosophy in the manufacturing industry in Brazil, over a period of ten years, to establish a relationship regarding trends, success factors, opportunities and identify gaps in the implementation of lean processes. The understanding of these factors, allows to know the status quo regarding the Lean practices in the productive and economic context of the Brazilian industry. The relevance of this research is to provide information that contributes to decision making and strategic actions for the continuous improvement of production processes. The method applied in this work was qualitative, descriptive, bibliographic research and with the use of content analysis, with "a priori" categorization under articles that address the theme and obtained from the Web of Science database. In the results and discussions, the SWOT and cross-SWOT analysis were applied, establishing the relationships between the trends, success factors, opportunities and gaps allowing the establishment of the outline of important strategies for the future of the organizations and, also, proposing possible scenarios. for managers to establish their decision making.
