Purpose of the study: This study aims to develop and validate the instruments measuring financial Literacy construct. Methodology: The pilot study randomly sampled some 100 school-teachers using a self-administered questionnaire. The Exploratory Factor Analysis (EFA) procedure has explored the usefulness of measuring items and determined the dimensionality of the construct. Finally, using the newly developed instruments, the field study obtained a random sample of 300 school-teachers to survey using a self-administered questionnaire. The data from the field were used to validate the instruments through the Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) procedure. Main Findings: The EFA procedure found three components that emerged from the items. The CFA procedure validated the instruments measuring Financial Literacy construct for uni-dimensionality, validity, and reliability. Applications of this study: The result showed that the measurement model of the Financial Literacy construct achieved the requirement for construct validity and reliability and should be able to be used in the future of research. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study produced instruments to assess Financial Literacy performance specifically among school teachers in Malaysia. School teachers consist of the highest number of employees in the country besides their nature of works and job characteristics differ from another group of employees.
Purpose of the study: This paper aimed to assess the analysis of the role of human capital investment (HCI) determinants and its remarkable contribution towards the education institution's performance by adapting the Malcolm Baldridge Criteria for Performance Excellence. Methodology: This research adopted a quantitative study and a survey tool comprises of sixty items with seven Likert scale was utilized as an instrument to assemble data from 309 lecturers in UiTM Kelantan. Next to test the research hypothesis data were then analyzed using the Structural Equation Modelling approach on the SmartPLS3 platform. Main Findings: The analysis demonstrated the influences of HCI determinants towards the UiTM performance. The coefficient of determination (R2) value of 66.9% suggested that the variance of institution performance could moderately be explained by the observed variables, namely knowledge, skill, and training. The result also indicates the highest positive significant value for skill towards performance with β=0.283, t-value= 1.981 and p<0.005. It is proven that a persistent skill development significantly contributes to the performance. Applications of this study: The research finding is useful to help the Ministry of Higher Education (MOE) in Malaysia to identify the relevant determinants in improving human capital quality. Novelty/Originality of this study: There were a lot of studies that were conducted involving higher education in Malaysia. But the only limited number of studies was conducted by scholars in assessing the main contribution of human capital investment factors towards the institution's success.
In Malaysian public universities, managing customer service experiences has emerged as a critical concern among university policymakers. Every stakeholder in universities is now viewed as a potential source of revenue, including every student as a customer and every member of staff as an internal customer. The Academic Affairs Department (AAD) is a cornerstone of the university. Therefore, it is the responsibility of the AAD to satisfy the requirements of its customers, particularly its internal customers which is the university's academic personnel. Academic personnel service experience is directly correlated with student happiness and university success. Therefore, it is vital to comprehend the aspects that affect the service experience of academic personnel. Hence, the main objective of this study is to examine the influence of perceived market orientation and self-efficacy on academic staff members' customer service in Malaysian public universities. According to the study paradigm, perceived market orientation and self-efficacy significantly impact how well customers are treated. The study made use of the survey method and quantitative research. A self-administered questionnaire was created to collect data from the academic staff of 454 Malaysian public universities. In this investigation, proportionate stratified random sampling was used. Findings from Partial Least Square 4.0 revealed significant correlations between perceived market orientation, self-efficacy, and customer service experience. Overall, this study supported the need to emphasize perceived market orientation and self-efficacy while managing the customer service experience of academic personnel in public universities.
This study attempts to construct a model assessment of SEM SmartPLS application in assessing the contribution of technology infrastructure support on human capital determinants among TVET lecturers. The compatibility concept of person-organization among academicians is one of the strategic aims for the Ministry of Education as it was stated in Malaysia Education Blueprint 2015-2025 (higher Education). The Ministry believed a sustainable growth of this group is a crucial focus since they play an important role to accomplish the country's education objective. Therefore, their professional profile needs to be consolidated in parallel with the education ecology. Apart from that, technology infrastructure support is also seen as a significant tool in boosting the quality of public education institutions where the chalk and paper method is no longer relevant in current education environment. As the most practical solution information technology infrastructure was adapted by organization to assist the activity even with a non-face-to-face situation. The shifting allows the people to attend any virtual courses as the objective to improve their professionalism in academic sector. This study assesses the role of ability, education, experience, knowledge, skill and training as the determinants of human capital and its significant contribution towards the institution performance. Then technological infrastructure supports also been examine as the mediator to recognize its affect towards performance. A theoretical model was underpinned by the theory of Human Capital (HC), Resource Based View theory and Malcolm Baldrige Criteria for Performance Excellence, which consist of six independent constructs, one mediating construct and one dependent construct. Apart from that this study discuss some relevant issues which contributes to TVET lecturers HC investment such as shortage of qualified, skill gaps, lack of industrial exposure and pedagogical knowledge. To achieve the research objectives a quantitative study has been carried out to among lecturers from 9 polytechnic campuses in the East Coast, Malaysia. A survey consisting of 63 items with 7 Likert scale was distributed to 1478 of TVET lecturers and 398 samples were successfully collected using the Stratified Sampling procedure. Next data
