This research aim is improving the learning outcomes of the students on General Physics course I. This research was done at Physics Department, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences, Universitas Negeri Medan. The Collaborative Learning Model is based on a Scientific Approach. There are three subject matters: Kinematics, Dynamics, Effort and Energy. A set of 20 multiple choice questions was used in each cycle as the instrument to measure the student's learning outcomes which had been predictively validated. Based on SPSS 17.0 analysis result, this instrument was declared valid and has had high reliability. For each cycle a pre-test and post-test were implemented. The result shows that there is a significant increase of student learning outcomes for each cycle in respect to the value of normalized gain.
This study aims to determine whether there is a significant difference learning outcomes Physics I among freshmen group that got the initial setup through the application of the principle of CTL and student groups who did not receive initial capacity setting in the Department of Physics Science Faculty Unimed. The design includes quasi-experimental study. This study population is students of Department of Physics. Using sampling techniques class (cluster sampling), sample of a population is represented by two classes, one class as the experimental class and the class as a control class. Instruments of this study is to test the learning outcomes. Hypothesis testing used two-sided t test. The data analyzed were derived from the normal distribution and homogeneous population. Based on the data analysis and discussion, the findings of this study it can be concluded that: there is a significant difference in learning outcomes between the Basic Physics I freshmen who received the original settings through the application of the principle of CTL and the group of students who did not receive initial capacity setting in the Department of Physics Science Faculty Unimed .
Tujuan utama penelitian ini adalah untuk menghasilkan lembarkegiatan mahasiswa berbasis masalah (LKMBM) Fisika Umum II. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis penelitian R & D, namun untuk menghasilkan perangkat pembelajaran LKMBM digunakan model disain Dick dan Carey. Struktur isi LKMBM Fisika Umum II ini merupakan implementasi dari konsep pembelajaran berbasis masalah, dan konsep strategi pemecahan masalah. Pelaksanaan penelitian ini dibagi atas tiga tahapan yaitu tahap perencanaan, pengembangan, dan evaluasi formatif. Pelaksananaan evaluasi formatif dilaksanakan melalui tiga tahapan, yaitu: uji validasi oleh 3 orang reviewer, uji coba satu satu melibatkan 3 orang mahasiswa, uji coba kelompok kecil melibatkan 15 orang mahasiswa. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data dan pembahasan, hasil penelitian ini adalah: (1) seperangkat lembar kegiatan mahasiswa berbasis masalah (LKMBM) Fisika Umum II yang ditata dalam 10 komponen, yaitu: (a) judul kegiatan, (b) tujuan pembelajaran, (c) permasalahan, (d) hipotesis, (e) pengumpulan data, (f) pembahasan, (g) simpulan, (h) daftar pustaka, (i) lampiran, dan (j) tes kompetensi; 2) hasil uji coba LKMBM beserta perangkat perangkat pendukungnya dengan melibatkan para ahli dan mahasiswa sebagai pengguna LKMBM, secara keseluruhan sudah memberikan penilaian yang baik, layak digunakan dalam perbaikan pembelajaran fisika umum.
AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui kelayakan LKPD berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan simulasi PhET untuk digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran Fluida Dinamis berdasarkan hasil validasi ahli dan hasil uji coba LKPD. Data penelitian diperoleh melalui pemberian angket dan lembar penilaian yang dianalisis menggunakan teknik deskriptif kualitatif dan kuantitatif. Dari hasil analisis data diperoleh validasi ahli materi sebesar 95,5%, ahli pembelajaran 90,63%, penilaian guru fisika sebesar 95,84% dengan masing-masing persentase tersebut termasuk dalam kriteria sangat baik. Hasil uji coba LKPD diperoleh keterampilan inkuiri siswa sebesar 79,24% dalam kriteria baik dan nilai rata-rata siswa 79,3 termasuk dalam kriteria tuntas. Berdasarkan hasil validasi, penilaian guru fisika dan hasil uji coba LKPD dapat disimpulkan LKPD fisika berbasis inkuiri terbimbing berbantuan simulasi PhET layak digunakan dalam proses pembelajaran Fluida Dinamis.AbstracThis study aims to determine the feasibility of guided inquiry-based LKPD assisted by PhET simulation to be used in the Dynamic Fluid learning process based on the results of expert validation and the results of LKPD trials. The research data was obtained through giving questionnaires and assessment sheets which were analyzed using qualitative and quantitative descriptive techniques. From the results of data analysis obtained material expert validation of 95,5%, learning experts 90,63%, physics teacher assessment of 95,84% with each percentage included in the very good criteria . The results of the LKPD trial obtained student inquiry skills by 79,24% in the good criteria and the average value of students 79,3 included in the criteria of completion. Based on the results of the validation, the physics teacher's assessment and the results of the LKPD trial, it can be concluded that the guided inquiry-based LKPD assisted by PhET simulation is feasible for use in the Dynamic Fluid learning process.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh model problem based learning terhadap peningkatan kemampuan pemecahan masalah fisika pada materi gelombang mekanik. Jenis penelitian ini adalah kuasi eskperimen dengan desain kelompok pretes-postes. Pengambilan sampel dengan teknik random sampling untuk menentukan kelas eskperimen dan kontrol. Teknik pengumpulan data yang digunakan adalah tes berupa instrumen kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan angket motivasi. Teknik analisis data yang digunakan yaitu normalized gain (N-gain). Hasil analisis data penelitian menunjukkan bahwa model pembelajaran problem based learning berpengaruh positif dan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan pemecahan masalah siswa daripada siswa yang menggunakan metode konvensional. Hal ini ditunjukkan dengan hasil Normalized Gain terhadap kemampuan pemecahan masalah. Hasil uji peningkatan dengan N-gain pada kelas eksperimen lebih baik daripada kelas kontrol yaitu berada pada kategori sedang dengan persentase N-Gain 56%, dan kelas kontrol 26%.
