The Covid-19 pandemic that emerged in early 2020, has had a very significant impact on various sectors, including education. Each country shifts learning activities at various levels from face-to-face (offline) to online learning. Achieving competences according to the high school chemistry curriculum is quite difficult to do through online learning, especially for skills and attitudes competency aspects. Chemistry learning during pandemic tended to focus on attaining the knowledge aspect. It needs attention, lest during the pandemic, there will be a degradation of students’ character. It is necessary to design chemistry learning that can facilitate the development of students’ character. One of the efforts that can be done is implementing a variety of online learning models. Project based learning can be an alternative strategy to facilitate the development of students’ character. It is necessary to conduct a study to determine the implementation strategy and impact of project based online learning, because it is not easy to apply the syntax in online learning. The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of project based online learning on students’ character. The study was a quasi-experimental, with posttest only design. The research population was students of class XI of a public high school in Sleman Regency. The research sample was determined by using purposive sampling technique. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire. The data analysis technique used the independent sample T-test. Based on the research data, it is concluded that there is no difference on students’ character between the implementation of project based online learning and conventional online learning. An assessment of practical work achievement is frequently conducted in a written test. The assessment contributes to the students' low laboratory skills. The written test makes the students have no challenge to get laboratory skills. The students' achievement on physics and chemistry practices tends to be lower than that on other practices. It is hoped that the assessment on the performance could give positive impact on the students' achievement, especially on laboratory skill aspect. The aim of this research is to develop the performance assessment on physics and chemistry practices. The development model used is Analysis-Design-Development-ImplementationEvaluation (ADDIE). The result shows that the instrument for assessment on performance in physics and chemistry practices could be developed in accordance with the steps of ADDIE Model. This instrument developed could be used in lecturing physics and chemistry practices.Kata Kunci: assessment instrument, performance assessment, chemistry practices. Abstrak:Penilaian capaian mata kuliah praktikum seringkali berupa tes tertulis. Sistem penilaian dipandang memberikan andil pada rendahnya keterampilan laboratoris mahasiswa. Tes tertulis menyebabkan mahasiswa tidak tertantang untuk memiliki keterampilan laboratoris. Capaian mahasiswa pada Praktikum Kimia Fisika cenderung lebih rendah dibandingkan dengan praktikum yang lain. Penilaian unjuk kerja diharapkan dapat memberikan dampak positif pada capaian mahasiswa, terutama pada aspek keterampilan laboratoris. Tujuan penelitian ini untuk pengembangan instrumen penilaian unjuk kerja Praktikum Kimia Fisika. Model pengembangan yang digunakan adalah model analysis, design, development, implementation, evaluation (ADDIE). Hasil penelitian disimpulkan bahwa instrumen penilaian unjuk kerja Praktikum Kimia Fisika dapat dikembangkan sesuai tahapan model ADDIE. Purworejo menjadi salah satu sentra penghasil rempah-rempah di Jawa Tengah. Terdapat sekitar 75 pabrik jamu mengandalkan bahan baku dari Purworejo. Daerah penyumbang rempah-rempah terbanyak di Kabupaten Purworejo adalah Desa Pelutan. Rempah-rempah tersebut antara lain kapulaga, kemukus, temulawak, kencur, kunyit, jahe, serai wangi. Potensi tanaman tradisional rempah-rempah yang ada selama ini belum diarahkan dan dikembangkan menjadi suatu produk bernilai jual dan baru menjadi komoditas perdagangan bahan baku. Masyarakat belum memiliki kesadaran yang tinggi akan potensi yang ada di sekitar lingkungan mereka untuk dikelola sendiri menjadi produk bernilai jual yaitu minyak atsiri. Permasalahan tersebut diakibatkan dari tingkat kesadaran dan pengetahuan masyarakat dalam mengolah hasil pertanian tersebut sangat rendah, di samping itu tidak adanya penyuluh dan pendamping tentang pengembangan potensi pertanian yang ada. Berdasarkan permasalahan tersebut maka masyarakat perlu diberdayakan supaya dapat mengolah potensi yang ada menuju peningkatan ekonomi warga. Model pemberdayaan yang digunakan adalah metode partisipatif Participatory Rural Apraisal (PRA). Pertimbangan dipilihnya metode ini adalah bahwa yang menghadapi masalah adalah mitra, oleh karena itu keterlibatan mitra dalam penentuan pemecahan masalah yang dihadapi dan penyelesaiannya sangat diperlukan. Solusi yang diterapkan dalam mengatasi permasalahan tersebut yaitu dengan cara: 1). pendampingan cara pemilihan dan pemanfaatan bahan baku, 2). pengolahan bahan baku menjadi produk minyak atsiri dan 3). pendampingan pemasaran minyak atsiri, 4). pengadaan teknologi tepat guna. Kegiatan pemberdayaan yang dilaksanakan mendapat dukungan penuh dari Pemerintah dan masyarakat Desa Pelutan. Pengolahan potensi desa berupa rempah-rempah menjadi produk berbasis minyak atsiri, dapat menjadikan Desa Pelutan sebagai sentra industri berbasis minyak atsiri dan meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat.
Abstract. Two of bachelor of chemical education's competences are having practical skills and mastering chemistry material. Practicum courses are organized to support the competency achievement. Based on observation and evaluation, many problems were found in the implementation of practicum courses. Preliminary study indicated that 5E Learning Cycle can be used as an alternative solution in order to improve the quality of chemistry practicum course. The 5E Learning Cycle can provide positive influence on the achievement of the competence, laboratory skills, and students' understanding. The aim of the research was to describe the feasibility of implementation of 5E Learning Cycle on chemistry practicum courses. The research was based on phenomenology method in qualitative approach. The participants of the research were 5 person of chemistry laboratory manager (lecturers at chemistry and chemistry education department). They concluded that the 5E Learning Cycle could be implemented to improve the quality of the chemistry practicum courses. Practicum guides and assistant competences were organized to support the implementation of 5E Learning Cycle. It needed training for assistants to understand and implement in the stages of 5E Learning Cycle. Preparation of practical guidelines referred to the stages of 5E Learning Cycle, started with the introduction of contextual and applicable materials, then followed with work procedures that accommodate the stage of engagement, exploration, explanation, extension, and evaluation
