AbstrakBuku dapat menjadi media pendidikan karakter pada anak usia dini karena efektif dan efisien. Di sinilah pendidikan karakter dapat diajarkan secara halus dan mudah diterima oleh anak usia dini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan kesesuaian konteks dan ilustrasi buku pendidikan karakter untuk anak usia dini berdasarkan teori desain; dan pendapat ahli tentang buku pendidikan karakter yang sesuai dengan konteks anak usia dini. Metode penelitian adalah metode kualitatif-studi kasus. Observasi dan wawancara digunakan untuk pengambilan data dan validasi menggunakan teknik triangulasi teori. Analisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Hasil penelitian menjelaskan bahwa (1) kesesuaian konteks dan ilustrasi buku pendidikan karakter untuk anak usia dini yang ditemukan meliputi konteks linguistik, konteks emotif, konteks situasional, ilustrasi tokoh yang memberi contoh kebaikan, warna yang cerah; dan (2) jenis buku cerita “Zayn Belajar Disiplin, buku “Aktivitas Pendikar, dan buku aktivitas-komparasi “Aku Anak Baik di Sekolah” merupakan buku pendidikan karakter yang sesuai dengan konteks anak usia dini sehingga layak digunakan sebagai media untuk mengajarkan karakter bagi anak usia dini. This is where character education can be taught smoothly and easily accepted by young children. The aims of this research were describe and explain the suitability of contexts and illustrations of character education books for early childhood based on design theory; And expert opinion on character education books that fit the context of early childhood. The research method is qualitative method-case study. Observations and interviews are used for data retrieval and validation using triangulation theory techniques. Data analysis using content analysis techniques. The results of the study explain that (1) the suitability of contexts and illustrations of character education books for early childhood were found to include linguistic context, emotive context, situational context, illustration of figures that give examples of goodness, bright colors; and (2) the type of storybook "Zayn Belajar Disiplin, the book"Aktivitas Pendikar”, and the comparative activity book "Aku Anak Baik di Sekolah" are character education book appropriate to the context of early childhood so it is worthy to be used as a medium to teach character to early childhood.Keywords: Context-illustration, picture book, education, character
The role of broad language may be implied in the increased role of the nation. The implications also can be seen in the role of the Indonesian language in the international area. This phenomenon is evidenced by the approval of that Indonesian language becomes subjects at 200 universities in ASEAN. However, there are some problems faced by foreign students studying in Indonesia. The problems commonly are issues related to cultural differences. These issues become an obstacle for foreign students studying in Indonesia. This research was conducted using a case study and qualitative approaches. The informants were foreign students who were studying the Indonesian language in Surakarta. The research results found that lack of the understanding of foreign students to the culture obstructs to the Indonesian language skills. The differences in the cultural background between the countries of origin of foreign students to the culture that exists in Surakarta make foreign students adjust the process of cultural adaptation. The adaptation was performed using the approach of familiarity and proximity.
This research aims to describe and explain: (1) the difference of influence in disciplinal behavior of the early ages in learning using character education books containing congeniality between context and illustration in the form of story, activity, and activity-comparative; (2) the strongest influence between story, activity, and activity-comparative books containing congeniality between context and illustration to disciplinal behavior of the early age. This research was conducted in TK Kristen Kalam Kudus Surakarta. This research was done with experimental quantitative method. Before the experiment was carried out, early analysis of character education books containing congeniality between context in illustration was done, continued by determining books that fit the criteria in congeniality between context and illustration based on the early analysis and experts’ opinions. The experts including book authors who are proficient in the psychological development of the early age, and teachers of kindergartens. Data retrieval was done using instruments. Instruments and data have been validated theoretically and contextually. The results conclude that there is a significant influence of congeniality between context and illustration to disciplinal behavior of the early age in kindergartens. The strongest influence among the books containing congeniality between context in illustration is activity-comparative books.
This study aimed to seeks a packaging design concept using environmentally friendly material. There are lots of dried teak leaves that pollute the yard. Without proper management, these leaves become garbage or rot and pollute the environment. This research applied qualitative descriptive method which is supported by quantitative analysis to determine the effectiveness of the environmentally friendly packaging design and market interest strategy for brownies. The creative design of environmentally friendly packaging from teak leaves was created to cover plain cardboard. The goal is to avoid the use of chemicals, namely kerosene, thinner, or printing ink. Instead of printing the cardboard, it is coated with dried teak leaves. This practice is environmentally friendly has aesthetic values. It is expected to attract potential consumers who care for the environmental preservation.
AbstrakDalam ilmu desain, ekspresi berupa karya visual atau simbol terpengaruh suasana batin. Karya visual ini dapat diwujudkan menjadi suatu kreasi gambar ilustrasi. Kajian psikologi desain dengan fokus pada suasana batin sebagai pendukung kreasi gambar ilustrasi ini mempunyai dua tujuan yaitu: (1) mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan suasana batin yang mendukung proses kreasi gambar ilustrasi; dan (2) mendeskripsikan dan menjelaskan wujud kreasi gambar ilustrasi atas pengaruh suasana batin. Metode yang digunakan dalam riset ini adalah metode kualitatif deskriptif, dengan strategi studi kasus. Studi kasus dengan setting penelitian pada mahasiswa peserta Mata Kuliah Pengantar Seni Rupa dan Desain Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual Universitas Sebelas Maret. Sampling menggunakan teknik purposive dan pemerolehan data melalui teknik dokumentasi, wawancara mendalam, dan instrumen. Validitas data menggunakan triangulasi teori, dan analisis menggunakan teknik analisis isi. Penelitian mendapatkan hasil: (1) suasana batin yang mendukung proses kreasi gambar ilustrasi pada mahasiswa Program Studi Desain Komunikasi Visual meliputi suasana batin kebingungan; sedih/tertekan/takut; dan optimis. (2) wujud kreasi gambar ilustrasi atas pengaruh suasana batin mahasiswa direpresentasikan berupa bentuk, garis, warna, ukuran, tekstur, ruang, dan arah. Namun yang dominan adalah bentuk, warna, dan tekstur. This visual work can be manifested into an illustration image creation. The study of psychological design with a focus on the inner atmosphere as a support for the creation of this illustration image has two objectives, namely: (1) to describe and explain the inner atmosphere that supports the process of creating illustration images; and (2) describe and explain the form of illustration image creation on the influence of inner mood. In this research, the descriptive-qualitative method was used with a case study strategy. The study took place in the "Introduction to Art and Design" course in the Visual Communication Design Department, Sebelas Maret University. Sampling uses purposive techniques and data collection through documentation techniques, in-depth interviews, and instruments. The validity of the data used theoretical triangulation, and the analysis used content analysis techniques. The result of this research is (1) a mental atmosphere that supports the process of creating illustration images for students of the Visual Communication Design department, which includes an inner mood of confusion; sadness/depression/fear; and optimism. (2) the form of illustration image creation on the influence of the students' inner atmosphere is represented in the form of shapes, lines, colors, sizes, textures, spaces, and directions.
