Happiness is important for humans because happiness experienced by each is closely related to high self-compassion. Individuals who have a high understanding of the events they experience tend to feel happy. The relationship can be strengthened by gratitude. The purpose of this study was to find out the relationship between Self-compassion and happiness moderated by gratitude to students. The subject in this study was 316 students. Instrument research uses the Self-compassion Scale (SCS), The Oxford Happiness Questionnaire (OHQ) and the Gratitude Questionnaire (GQ). The analysis of the data used the Moderated Regression Analysis (MRA). The results showed that there was a positive and significant relationship between self-compassion and happiness which was moderated by gratitude (β = .29 and p = .046), and self-compassion contribution with happiness was moderated by gratitude which was equal to 18.1%.
Emotional distress, such as symptoms of anxiety, depression, and withdrawal, is on the rise among teenagers today. These symptoms are generally grouped into internalizing problems. Based on research, a risk factor that contributes to internalizing problems is peer rejection. This study aims to determine the effect of peer rejection on adolescent internalizing problems. Research design is quantitative research with a multistage random sampling technique as a data collection technique. The subjects of this study were 252 adolescents aged 16-18 years who are currently studying in SMA in Bondowoso Regency, consisting of 103 boys (M = 40.068; SD = 13.283) and 149 girls (M = 40.893; SD =13.283). The instruments used were Social Peer Rejection Measure (21 items, α = .90) and Strengths and Difficulty Questionnaire (SDQ), just for internalizing problems (10 items, α = .72). The results of the analysis test using simple linear regression showed that there was a positive influence of peer rejection on internalizing problems in high school adolescents in Bondowoso Regency, adjusted R 2 = .278; F(4, 427) = 251, p = .000). This influence shows that the more often adolescents experience rejection from their peers, the higher the chances of experiencing internalizing problems.
The subjective well-being on schizophrenic patients is influenced by many aspects, especially family support. However, the influence is not always in a direct affection; it may through self-care. The present study is aimed at finding out the influence of family support toward well-being through self-care as mediator on schizophrenic patients. The subjects of this study were 108 patients of a psychiatric hospital at South Kalimantan. The instruments used were Subjective Well-being Under Neuroleptics Scale (SWNS) to measure the subjective well-being of the subjects, Perceived Social Support-Family Scale (PSS-Fa) to investigate the family support experienced by the subjects, and Self Care Assessment Tools to assess the self care of the subjects. Regression analysis was applied to figure out the influence of exogenous variable toward endogenous variable and to examine the influence model among variables. The result of data analysis revealed that family support possessed higher influence toward the subjective well-being, therefore selfcare could not be the influence mediator of family support toward the subjective well-being on schizophrenic patients.
