A hybrid method combining parallelized finite-difference time-domain (PFDTD) method and parallelized time-domain physical optics (PTDPO) method is presented for computing the radiation fields of the large single reflector, which can not be simulated by one time-domain method. Two process groups for parallel computing are firstly set up, one is for PFDTD computing and the other is for PTDPO computing. No magnetic fields should be saved at every timestep when the Kirchhoff's Sufrace Integration Representation(KSIR) is used to computing the magnetic fields on the reflector. The radiation fields of single reflector antenna with dipole source show the results near the axis are agreed well with those by using PFDTD method and the same as those obtained by FDTD-TDPO method. The hybrid method has the ability of simulating large single reflector with hundreds of wavelengths, including the reflector's feed is offset.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
