The objective of the study was to determine the forms of media involvement in justice for crimes against the civilian population. The research was conducted using the methods of systems approach, descriptive analysis, forecasting, systematic sampling and comparative method. The mass media as an institution of civil society have ample opportunities for active participation in justice, in particular, in the detection and documentation of crimes, social support to victims, coordination of efforts of governmental and non-governmental entities. The media is an active subject in justice for crimes against the civilian population. However, their functions are not of a legal nature; they are aimed at establishing the completeness and objectivity of the facts. It is concluded that the prospects for the development of media activities envisage the model, which focuses on the detection and documentation of crimes, in particular through the latest technologies; provision of social support and opportunities for victims to express their position while facilitating the coordination of efforts between governmental and non-governmental entities interested in justice for crimes against civilians.
The article identifies and describes the main groups of non-catalogued documents from Manuscripts Department of Ossolinski National Institute in Wroclaw, enabling the study of unknown pages of Ukrainian journalism history. The revealed documents made it possible to clarify new aspects of editors’, publishers’, journalists’ activity, to find out the unknown periodicals, as well as to enrich their «biographies» with new information. They are, in particular, the copies of Ukrainian newspapers, magazines and bulletins published in Austria, Poland, Germany in 1919–1921, editions issued in displaced persons’ camps, and early unknown handwritten student’s magazine «Vіstnyk» (1890) and its Polish language supplement «Dodatek do Vіstnyka». The author characterizes archival materials of Ukrainian newspapers’ editorial boards, such as of «Ukrainska Trybyna», «Ridnyi Krai», «Zyz», «Litopys Chervonoii Kalyny», «Ukraiinski Visti» and others. Mostly, they include authorized texts with editor’s marks, letters to correspondents and their answers, evidences about contributors, ways of forming the periodicals’ content, cooperation with polish journalists, as well as with editorial boards of other periodicals, both Ukrainian and foreign. The article stated the significance of different documents of the Ministry of Press and Propaganda of Ukrainian Peoples Republic’s Government as a historic source, especially those issued during so called Tarniv period. That is regulative and normative documents, reports, official correspondence by minister O. Kovalevskyi, heads and referents of Department of Press and Department of Propaganda V. Ostrovskyi, K. Vrotnovskyi-Syvoshapka, F. Krushynskyi, N. Hnatiuk and others. The author examines personal documents, which highlight the biographies of both prominent and little-known journalists, publishers, other persons closely cooperated with press. Private correspondence by F. Dudko, M. Yeremiiiv, O. Kovalevskyi, P. Kovzhun, M. Tverdokhlib, V. Pisniachevskyi, F. Khyzhniak, M. Yatskiv was especially emphasized, since besides private troubles, contains important discussions on media publishing, valuable information about periodicals they were working for and their reflections on the importance of journalism in general. The paper studies the main aspects of creative work of Oleksandr Kovalevskyi (1890-1940?), a journalist, public and political figure, cooperative movement’s activist. Archival documents, particularly correspondence with Volodymyr Koroliv-Staryi, M.Yeremijiv, V. Pisniachevskyi, A.Nikovskyi revealed numerous facts about his cooperation with periodicals. The author of the article estimates his judgements on journalism, its role and tasks as well as the features of regional press as notably actual. The author analyses the way Kovalevskyi treated periodicals’ content, way of providing discussions in press, and how to illuminate the key issues of the day. The autobiographical component is being prized as the main feature of Kovalevskyi’ publications. His writings on social and political topics were enriched with bygone parallels illustrating his political views’ transformation, his established feelings on certain life conflicts. The past was strongly incorporated into his memory. The author found out that journalistic heritage of Oleksandr Kovalevsky had never been accumulated and analyzed, especially his journalistic skills and features of texts architectonics etc. A complex study of journalist’s activity, especially his talent after observing problems that persecuted the Ukrainians to single out the main one and explainit in details, would help future journalists in forming their professional skills and restoring historical events. The main purpose of the article is to study the most successful experience in the implementation of the education quality assessment system in the leading countries of the world. The world is constantly changing and developing. Together with it, we are changing, our ideas about the natural and anthropogenic environment, about our capabilities and needs are changing. We strive to know more, be able to do better, learn faster. And on this path, education is a powerful tool capable of changing the world. As a socio-cultural institution, education is acquiring new properties and characteristics. But the desire of people to form or receive education of the highest quality remains unchanged, especially in the context of systemic transformations. Universities have always been the main producers and providers of knowledge in society, but today they are recognized as the main generators of knowledge. In the context of global competition, a complex of interrelationships between high-quality higher education, scientific research both in the academic environment and outside it is becoming more important for ensuring the innovative and productive development of the state. As a result of the study, the most effective mechanisms for the implementation of the education quality assessment system in the leading countries of the world, as well as the most optimal methods for their adaptation, were analyzed.
