Background: Adolescence is the starting point of the human life cycle in preparing for a healthy reproductive process. Guidance and information that is not true at this time can oftaffectect the future of adolescents. Most adolescents don’t use Adolescent Reproductive Health (ARH) services (57%), quite a lot of adolescents (46.3%) use internet technology in accessing the information on ARH (Sampulawa & Mubarokah, 2015). Based on the above background, the researcher wants to explore the behavior of using ARH facilities in the city of Malang. Methods: Descriptive research method with cross-sectional approach, with population, are all teenagers in the city of Malang. The research sample was taken using the purposive sampling technique, obtained a suitable sample of 200 adolescents from April to June 2021. The inclusion criteria of this study were unmarried and willing to be research respondents. Collecting data using a questionnaire via a google form. Descriptive analysis technique, presented in the frequency distribution. Results: The majority of respondents have never received correct knowledge about reproductive health (89.6%), with the majority of information sources obtained from schools (80%) and mass media (45.5%). Respondents used mass media to access information on reproductive health from the internet (87.5%) and books (51.5%). In using gadgets, respondents use them for 5-10 hours a day (53.5%), but only occasionally use them to find information about reproductive health (50.5%). Respondents stated that the use of mass media as a source of information about reproductive health can help in maintaining health (96.5%). Conclusion: Internet-based health education about adolescent reproductive health is needed because it is easy and simple, and the content is interesting to read. It can be used as an alternative media for reproductive health learning.
Background: Growth in adolescence requires high nutrition for growth. Lack of fulfillment of nutritional needs during the transition from childhood to adulthood can result in delayed sexual maturation and growth retardation. In childhood, the nutritional needs of boys and girls are relatively the same, but during adolescence, there are specific biological and physiological changes according to gender. Methods: This study uses descriptive analysis with a cross-sectional approach, sampling technique with purposive sampling, and a sample of 100 respondents. Results: The carbohydrate intake pattern of rural (94%) and urban (62%) adolescents came from rice. The protein consumed most often by rural (50%) and urban (40%) adolescents were tempe or tofu. The most frequently consumed source of fat was vegetable oil (52%) in rural adolescents while in urban adolescents it was milk and cheese (18%). The snacks most often consumed by rural youth (36%) and urban (16%) are fried foods. Meanwhile, vegetables are the most consumed source of fiber by rural (70%) and urban (36%). Consumption patterns with balanced nutrition are very important for adolescents in their growth period to produce optimal future generations for the Indonesian nation. Conclusion: The overview of the nutritional fulfillment of urban and rural adolescents is different, however, almost all respondents have the same source of carbohydrate intake from rice
Coronavirus disease-19 is a new virus that is causing pandemics in various countries. To break the chain of transmission of the virus, the Ministry of Education and Culture provides instructions for universities in Indonesia to conduct distance learning using online learning methods. This can cause stress to students and change menstrual cycles and length. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there was a change in the cycle and length of menstruation among female students during online learning during the Covid-19 pandemic. This study used a comparative design with a cross-sectional approach. This research was conducted on students of the Department of Midwifery, Poltekkes Kemenkes Malang with a total sample of 239 female students who were selected by purposive sampling. The data was collected by filling out a questionnaire using google form. The data extracted in this study included age of menarche, menstrual cycle, and length of menstruation before and during online learning. The results showed that there were differences in menstrual cycles (p-value 0.018) and no difference in menstrual length (p-value 0.825) before and during online lectures. Online learning during the pandemic has harmed students, one of which is stress due to changes that have occurred and the assignments are given. This has an impact on changes in the teenage menstrual cycle. Further research needs to be carried out to determine the factors that cause menstrual cycle changes in female students during the Covid-19 pandemic. Keywords: Menstrual Cycle, Length of Menstruation, Online Learning, Covid-19
