This article presents findings from a research project regarding coverage of the refugee crisis by ten local media in the most southern and northern parts of Norway from August 2015 until July 2016. The crisis is given broad attention, particularly in the fall of 2015. Quite a number of the stories are headline stories on the front pages or top stories on the inside. The local media demonstrates widespread coverage of different perspectives related to the refugee crisis. The perspective of help is the most prominent one, while seeing asylum seekers as a resource is the viewpoint that is given the least attention. Politiciansmainly national and local-comprise one-third of the sources. When it comes to local politicians, mayors make up more than half of the sources. The migrants themselves are rarely sources, but once they are, there are marked differences in the coverage, from north to south.
