This article investigates the impact of renewable energy consumption and natural resource depletion on environmental degradation from 1990 to 2014. The analysis of this study is distributed into three parts, developing country analysis, developed country analysis and complete sample analysis. An insignificant relation has found between natural resource depletion and environmental degradation in the case of complete sample analysis and developing country analysis, but vica-versa in developed countries. Fossil fuel energy consumption has a positive and significant impact on environmental degradation in developing countries. Renewable energy consumption has negative impact on environmental degradation in the case of complete sample analysis and developed country analysis, but visa-versa in developing countries. Economic growth positively and significantly effecting environmental degradation in all the three cases, this mean for higher economic growth we have to bear some environmental degradation. But it is the need of the hour that we should find some threshold between economic growth and pollutant emissions, so that a healthy environment can be safe for coming generations. So, for a healthy environment, fossil fuel consumption should be reduced and consumption of renewable energy with merchandised trade and urbanization can be encouraged.

This study has investigated the impact of gender inequality and environmental degradation on human well-being in the case of Pakistan from 1980 to 2019. Augmented dickey-fuller unit root test is used for stationarity of the variables. The autoregressive distributed lag model (ARDL) is used for co-integration among the variables of the model. The results show that gender inequality has a negative and significant impact on human well-being in Pakistan, while gender equality encourages human well-being. The calculated results show that there is a positive, but insignificant relationship between environmental degradation and human well-being in the case of Pakistan. The estimated results show that economic misery has a negative and significant impact on human well-being in the case of Pakistan. The estimated results show that economic growth has a positive and significant relationship with human well-being in Pakistan. Based on estimated results, it is concluded that gender equality, economic misery, and economic growth are playing an important role in determining human well-being in Pakistan. Therefore, to improve human well-being, the government must reduce gender inequality and economic misery while enhancing in parallel economic growth.
This study has investigated the impact of socio-economic status on life expectancy in the case of Lebanon over the period of 1971 to 2014. Availability of food, CO2 emissions, secondary school enrollment, per capita income and population growth are used for reviewing socio-economic status of Lebanon. Johansen test is used for examining co-integration among variables. The results of Johansen co-integration show that there is co-integration among the variables of the model. The long run results of the model show that all selected independent variables of the model have significant impact on life expectancy in Lebanon. The causality test results reveal that all the independent variables have causal relationship with life expectancy at birth in the Lebanese case over the selected time period. The estimated results suggest that if government of Lebanon wants to increase life expectancy at birth, it has to improve its socio-economic status of its masses.
