Recibido: 01 febrero 2017 Aceptado: 21 marzo 2017 RESUMEN. La desigualdad de género en Chile sigue presente, reproduciéndose mediante los estereotipos de género que se extienden en la sociedad. Por ende, es necesario implementar experiencias educativas como la presente intervención, la cual tuvo por objetivo favorecer el debilitamiento de perspectivas y conductas sexistas por medio del pensamiento crítico. Esta intervención se realizó en una escuela básica ubicada en la Región Metropolitana por un período de dos años, especíicamente en el curso 7° básico y posterior 8°. Después de una preparación basada en un diagnóstico del curso, se implementó la experiencia de intervención "Rompiendo con los Estereotipos" compuesta por dos ejes: el principal con 42 sesiones donde se abordaron críticamente los estereotipos de género en relación con otros conceptos y el segundo denominado "Taller de Género" con 8 sesiones con un enfoque desde lo femenino. La intervención consideró instancias para comunicar los aprendizajes a la comunidad y promovieron resultados favorables. Estos resultados incluyeron el desarrollo de herramientas de pensamiento crítico que hicieron decrecer actitudes y expresiones sexistas en el alumnado. Los logros alcanzados revelan la importancia de la escuela como contexto para generar transformaciones y el rol ejercido por el pensamiento crítico para fomentar una convivencia libre de conductas sexistas.
