Abstrak PENDAHULUANBerdasarkan hasil pengamatan, keterampilan siswa kelas 7H SMP Negeri 2 Banjarnegara dalam menulis descriptive text pada mata pelajaran Bahasa Inggris masih rendah. Beberapa alasan mengapa keterampilan mereka termasuk rendah yaitu dilihat dari bagaimana mereka mengorganisasi ide, tata bahasa, dan penggunaan mechanic. Mereka masih mengalami kesulitan dalam mengorganisasi ide ke dalam suatu deskripsi. Tata bahasa juga masih perlu untuk diperbaiki, terlihat dari penggunaan kata kerja yang tidak sesuai dengan subjek (concord dan agreement). Penggunaan kata ganti belum begitu dikuasai, sedangkan komponen ini berguna untuk membuat teks yang kohesif dan koheren. Penggunaan kata hubung antar paragraf belum mampu digunakan secara tepat. Selain itu, mereka juga masih merasa kesulitan menentukan modifier dalam menyusun adjective phrase. Guru telah menggunakan gambar sebagai media dalam menulis descriptive text. Namun upaya tersebut masih kurang optimal.Keterampilan menulis Bahasa Inggris telah diajarkan pada tingkat menengah pertama. Pada kurikulum yang sedang berlangsung saat ini, keterampilan menulis berada pada Kompetensi Inti 4. Luaran dari pembelajaran Bahasa Inggris ialah siswa mampu berkomunikasi secara lisan dan tulis menggunakan bahasa yang fungsional. Kompetensi yang diharapkan dimiliki oleh siswa ialah
The purpose of this study was to evaluate at articles published between 2017 and 2022 that explored the benefits and impact of using video-based learning in the classroom to teach listening. It was considered as a Systematic Literature Review. Data were obtained from ERIC as an online journal database which served a number of reputable journals. They were gathered and analyzed through a systematic examination covering four phases, such as identification, screening, eligibility, and exclusion. In the first phase, 132 articles were obtained however at the last after filtering process, there were only 5 articles remaining. Actually, most of the sources stated that videos play its roles well in enhancing students’ listening skills. Yet, another innovation in using videos in teaching listening were really expected to be investigated for future studies.
This research aimed at enhancing students’ writing skills through Triple-R Method. This Classroom Action Research was conducted in SMPN 2 Banjarnegara to 32 students of Class VIIC as the participants. Data of students’ writing were gathered through tests while the learning process was captured through observation. Then they were analyzed descriptively. The results revealed the writing skills increased from 63.59 in Pre-Cycle, 70.0 in Cycle I, ten 72.81 in Cycle II. Hence, Triple-R Method could enhance students’ writing skills.
