This research aims at describing students' well-being assessment at two private secondary schools in Sleman regency, Yogyakarta Special Province, Indonesia. The subjects of the research were 42 secondary school students in the area. This is an evaluative research by means of quantitative approach. The data collecting technique employed a focus group discussion (FGD) while the instrument used an FGD guide book based on a School Well-being Model (Konu and Rimpela, 2002). The data were analyzed quantitatively by means of thematic analysis. The research finding showed that the students' school well-being was psychologically high at dimension of health status, but low at dimension of having, loving, and being. Another important finding is that there was a tendency of verbal, physical, as well as sexual bullying done by their classmates and teachers personally.
Counseling competence is a set of essential abilities which is prominent to be employed in conducting counseling. This counseling competence research took students of counseling as a counselor candidate. This study aims to analyze the correlation between basic knowledge, basic communication skill, and cultural skill to the counseling competence. This work used Ex Post Facto Causal Relationship Explanatory research design. The research subjects were 120 students of Department of Guidance and Counseling from three State Universities in Java Island. Samples were taken by using cluster random sampling technique. The data analysis was conducted through Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) technique. The research results show that there is a significant relationship between knowledge, basic attitude, basic communication skill and cultural skill to the counseling competence. The implication of this research finding to the education of the Department of Guidance and Counseling is the significance of considering the factors forming the academic counseling competence to produce the professional counselor candidate.
Kepuasan hidup memegang peranan penting dalam kualitas dan kinerja seseorang dalam profesi apapun, termasuk guru. Guru adalah pendidik profesional dengan tugas utama mendidik, mengajar, membimbing, mengarahkan, melatih, menilai, dan mengevaluasi peserta didik. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode survey kuantitatif dengan tujuan untuk menganalisis keterkaitan antara faktor demografi terhadap kepuasan hidup guru di Palopo dan Toraja. Berdasarkan hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan skala SWLS (Satisfaction W ith Life Scale) didapatkan data bahwa dari 111 orang guru yang menjadi partisipan, 67,6% guru merasa puas akan hidupnya. Berdasarkan analisa tabulasi silang, diketahui bahwa perbedaan faktor demografis di antara responden memiliki keterkaitan yang unik dengan kepuasan hidup para guru tersebut. Hasil penelitian dengan menggunakan korelasi non parametrik ordinal kendall tau dan koefisien Asosiasi Cramer's V juga menunjukkan bahwa faktor demografis seperti jenis kelamin, status kepegawaian, suku bangsa, lama bekerja, persepsi besarnya pendapatan, persepsi perbandingan gaji, memiliki keterkaitan yang signifikan dengan kepuasan hidup guru. Dengan analisis regresi ordinal, dapat disimpulkan pula bahwa faktor jenjang pendidikan, persepsi besarnya pendapatan, dan perbandingan gaji memiliki pengaruh yang signifikan terhadap kepuasan hidup guru. Rekomendasi tindakan untuk meningkatkan kepuasan hidup guru perlu dipikirkan oleh pihak Pemerintah dan Yayasan dengan membuat rencana pengembangan karir guru yang berdampak bagi tingkat kesejahteraaan hidup mereka di masa depan.
Academic cheating behavior in schools have (r = -.0.096, p = 0.260) and between knowledge of cheating behavior with the behavior appearance (r = -0.08, p = 0.925). However, there was a difference on the appearance of plagiarizing behavior reviewed from the knowledge of plagiarism (F = 2.303, p = 0.038) while there was no difference on cheating behavior reviewed from the knowledge of cheating (F = 1.18, p = 0.355). This showed that the frequency of students conducting cheating or plagiarizing behavior was not merely based on their level of knowledge.
Optimal development in all aspects will determine the child's future success. Parenting and education patterns carried out by parents, teachers and the environment will affect the quality of children. Without neglecting other aspects, cognitive development becomes an important focus in addition to physical development in childhood. If in learning, learning styles and how the delivery of material by the teacher is adjusted to what is desired by the students it will have a good impact on student learning outcomes. When the teacher has adjusted to the learning styles of each student, learning will be more easily absorbed absorbed and learning outcomes will be maximized. The success of students in capturing information or knowledge delivered by the teacher is determined by the readiness of the brain to capture the information or knowledge, if the brain is not ready, the learning process will never occur. Learning that uses a neuroscience perspective involves the formation and strengthening of connections and neural networks, which strengthens the relationship between the characteristics of learning styles with the improvement of students' metacognition skills.
