Based on data from Indonesian Health Ministry in 2009, osteoporosis case reached 19,7 % of the populations in Indonesia, especially women in menopause period. The treatment was performed by consuming bisphosphonate drugs per oral which was not effective since the absorption intake of the drug was only less than 55% of the intake dosage. Because of that, the bone filler which also has a function as drug delivery system was developed. The hydroxyapatite-gelatin bone filler with the addition of alendronate was studied. To increase the characteristics of this bone filler, glutaraldehyde was introduced in the composite as a crosslinking agent. The concentration of 0.25%, 0.5%, and 0.75% were used. The bone filler was then characterized based on FTIR test, morphology test, compressive strength test, cytotoxicity test, and degradation test. The FTIR result showed that there was no significant difference between the sample with and without glutaraldehyde since the crosslinking bond of glutaraldehyde and gelatin was C=N bond which also presented in the gelatin. The morphology of the samples depicted a bigger pore size for higher glutaraldehyde concentration which also supported by lower compressive strength. All the samples were non-toxic based on the cytotoxicity test which had cell viability more than 100%. The degradation tests showed that with the presence of glutaraldehyde in the bone filler could maintain its form longer than the bone filler without glutaraldehyde. In conclusion, the presence of glutaraldehyde could increase the characteristics of the hydroxyapatite-gelatin composite with the addition of alendronate as a bone filler candidate for osteoporotic bone.
Every student who attends lectures on campus is expected to have achievements as an academic member. This also applies to student-athletes excelling in sports and balancing it with academic achievement. Achievement is related to athletes' physical abilities and skills in performing techniques. The high level of physical activity that is carried out requires athletes' involvement in taking risks both during training and competitions. This study aims to determine the profile of risk-taking behavior in Surabaya State University students. A total of 230 student-athletes became the subject of the study, with an age range of 19-24 years, with 35 people in the categories of accuracy sports, 57 people in Pencak silat, 96 people in games, and 42 people in the competition. The instrument used is risk-taking behavior—data analysis techniques using descriptive statistics. The data analysis tool used the Jeffreys' Amazing Statistics Program (JASP) application version 0.14.1.0. The data analysis results showed that most subjects' risk-taking behavior was at a good level of 157 people or 86.3 percent. The dominant risk-taking behavior is at a high level of 73 people or 31.73 percent at a moderate level. The implications of this research are the data for campuses to promote sports activities so that students have good risk-taking behavior. Through good decision-making behavior, it is hoped that it will encourage the achievement of student-athlete's academic and sports achievements.
This research aims to look at the influence of the traditional game 'Engklek' on the ability of the early children's gross motor. The hypothesis of this research is that there is an influence of the game to the children's gross motor ability. The method used in this research is the experimental method through one group pre test and post test design. The subjects of this research totalled 8 children, 3 girls and 5 boy (5-6 year old). The instrument of this research is Behavior Analytical Rating Scale (BARS) motor ability test from Bruininks and Bruininks. The results shows an increase as seen from the acquisition of an average yield of 31.5 at the pretest (low) becomes 58.5 (good) at the posttest. Analysis of the data used in this research is the Wilcoxon test. Wilcoxon test analysis result obtained value of Sig. = 0.011, (p <0.05) that means there is the influence of the traditional game of Engklek on gross motor ability of early children. The traditional game 'Englek' is effective to increasing the gross motor ability of early children. Increasing gross motor abily in this research caused by children's good physical strength since 'Engklek, included gross motor activity such as jumping and throwing. Besides, happiness and social value exist while playing that the kids do not feel when they do kind of burden activities.
The COVID-19 pandemic is currently affecting education bodies including universities. The negative impacts of pandemic on students’ academic lives cannot be underestimated primarily on the final-year undergraduate students who are working on their thesis. Various obstacles encountered by the students due to the distance learning applied by universities in responding to the pandemic can cause academic problems including procrastination. The main impact of academic procrastination on students is the delay in graduation that affects both the students’ future careers and the image of the university. The study aims to describe the academic procrastination of the final-year students during the COVID-19 pandemic. This was a survey research that applied saturated samples for recruiting subjects. A number of 224 final-year students were involved. Data was collected using an academic procrastination questionnaire and was analysed descriptively using a statistic program. The results showed that the academic procrastination among the participants was in the moderate category. The residence of the participants who are working on their thesis from homes indicate the connection with academic procrastination. In contrast, gender and the entry year are not proved as the factors that affect the students’ academic procrastination.
