ABSTRAK
Salep ekstrak etanolik daun binahong (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) basis absorpsi memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Staphylococcus aureus pada konsentrasi 10%. Dalam meningkatkan aktivitas zat aktif ekstrak etanolik daun binahong, maka perlu dilakukan penyesuaian berbagai basis formulasi salep. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui aktivitas antibakteri salep ekstrak daun binahong dengan variasi basis hidrokarbon, absorpsi, dan larut air terhadap Staphylococcus aureus.Ekstrak etanolik daun binahong diperoleh dengan metode maserasi menggunakan etanol 70%. Salep dibuat dengan variasi basis pembawanya yaitu hidrokarbon, absorpsi, dan larut air. Salep yang telah dihasilkan selanjutnya diuji aktivitas antibakterinya terhadap bakteri Staphylococcus aureus. Data hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri dianalisis secara Anova satu jalan dan dilanjutkan Tukey dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Hasil uji aktivitas antibakteri salep ekstrak etanolik daun binahong (hidrokarbon, absorpsi, dan larut air) tidak memiliki perbedaan yang bermakna (Sig≥0,05).

ABSTRACT
The absorbtion-based ointment of ethanolic extract of binahong leaves (Anredera cordifolia (Ten.) Steenis) on 10% concentrate has antibacterial activity towards Staphylococcus aureus. In order to improve the activity of this ethanolic extract of binahong leaves, it is necessarily to adjust the ointment’s base of formulation. The aims of study are to determine the ointment’s physical characteristics as well as the antibacterial activity towards Staphylococcus aureus which various base such as hydrocarbon, absorbtion and water solubility. The ethanolic extract of binahong leaves obtained from maceration method using 70% of ethanol. The ointment was made based on the variation of its base which are hydrocarbon, absorbtion and water solubility. The obtained oinment then was examined on antibacterial activity toward Staphylococcus aureus. Anti-bacterial activity were analyzed using one-way ANOVA and Tukey with the level of confidence up to 95%. the antibacterial activity of ethanolic extract ointment of binahong leaves (hydrocarbon, absorbtion, and watersolubility) also did not have any significant differences (Sig≥0,05).

Background: Green tea, is one of the herbs that have been proven to be effective as an anti-acne, among others.Green tea leaves contain 30-40% polyphenols known as catechins most of which are antimicrobial. For ease of use, the ethanolic leaf extract of green tea is made in cream. This study aimed to determine the effect of variations in the concentration of ethanolic extract of green tea leaves in cream on the physical properties and antibacterial activity of acne bacteria in particular.Design and Method: In this study, green tea leaf extract condensed obtained by maceration using 50% ethanol solution. Cream formula that is made in five concentration ethanolic extract of green tea leaves 1%, 3%, 5%, 7%, and 9% use a modified formula antiacne cream. Cream tested physical properties include homogenity, percent separation, dispersive power and adhesion. During the antibacterial activity was also tested. The data obtained were analyzed statistically using the non-parametric Kruskal-Wallis test followed by Mann Whitney test with a level of 95%.Results: The preparation cream ethanolic leaf green tea extract at various concentrations have good homogenity and not separate, the greater concentration of cream ethanolic extract of green tea leaves get smaller power and energy dispersive adhesion, whereas the inhibitory against Staphylococcus aureus bacteria is getting biger. Conclusion: Cream ethanolic extract of green tea leaves that are comparable with the positive control (Ristra acne creaming) the physical properties and the antibacterial activity at a concentration of 7% (Sains Medika, 4(2):147-156).

Minyak kayu manis (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) mengandung sinamaldehid dan eugenol sebagai antifungi Candida albicans untuk mengobati kandidiasis oral. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh konsentrasi minyak kayu manis terhadap sifat fisik dan aktivitas antifungi Candida albicans dalam emulgel. Minyak kayu manis (Cinnamomum zeylanicum) diformulasikan dalam bentuk emulgel dengan varian konsentrasi F1: 1%, F2: 3%, F3: 5%, F4: 7%, F5: 9%. Formula tersebut diuji sifat fisik dan aktivitas antifungi terhadap Candida albicans menggunakan metode sumuran. Data organoleptis, homogenitas dianalisis secara deskriptif. Viskositas, pH, daya sebar, daya lekat dianalisis dengan korelasi regresi linear. Data diameter daerah hambat dianalisis dengan statistik Kruskall Wallis dilanjutkan Mann Whitney dengan taraf kepercayaan 95%. Kelima formula berwarna putih pekat, bau khas kayu manis, rasa manis khas kayu manis, bentuk semi padat dan homogen. Peningkatan konsentrasi minyak kayu manis meningkatkan pH, viskositas, daya lekat tapi menurunkan daya sebar. Peningkatan konsentrasi minyak kayu manis dalam emulgel mempunyai pengaruh perbedaan yang signifikan terhadap aktivitas antifungi Candida albicans dan minyak kayu manis 5% dalam emulgel mempunyai aktivitas antifungi Candida albicans setara dengan kontrol positif. Nilai diameter daerah hambat yang diperoleh yaitu F1: 12,71 mm, F2: 20,06 mm, F3: 22,11 mm, F4: 22,52 mm, dan F5: 24,37 mm.Kata kunci: emulgel, kayu manis (Cinnamomum zeylanicum), Candida albicans.
