Objective: Describe the knowledge and practice of self-care among patients with post-operative of the lower third molar at the Air Defense – Air Force Academy and related factors. Participants and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 99 patients with post-operative of the lower third molar treated as outpatients at Dental Center 225, Air Defense – Air Force Academy from December 2021 to June 2022. Results: The percentage of patients with post-operative of the lower third molar accounted 80.8%, and 66.7% for self-care knowledge and practice.. The study initially identified the related factors of female patients with a history of first surgery had better knowledge. The patients with high education and good social support had better self-care practice. Patients with self-care knowledge achieved self-care practice 6.5 times higher than those with low self-care knowledge. Conclusion: The patient had good knowledge of self-care for post-operative of the lower third molar of lower jaw. The patients had the right knowledge and the practice had good treatment results. Thereby contributing to improving the patient’s attitude and behavior in the implementation of self-care for post-operative of the lower third molar.
Objective: To describe of quality of life among patients with chronic urticaria at the Department of Allergy, Immunology and Dermatology at E Hospital in 2022. Participants and methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 95 patients with chronic urticaria at the Department of Allergy, Immunology and Dermatology, Hospital E. The questionnaire to assess the quality of life of patients with chronic urticaria was developed by the researcher based on the CU - Q2oL questionnaire. Results: The overall mean score on quality of life of the patients was calculated as 64.36 ± 12.44 (37-102) points. The average score of problems affecting the quality of life of patients with chronic urticaria were itching 1.95/4 points; swelling 1.97/4 points; daily activities 1.9/4 points; sleep 2.01/4 points; limitation 1.85/4 points and appearance 2.0/4 points. Conclusion: The quality of life of patients with chronic urticaria is significantly low. Nurses need to provide health education about nutrition, exercise, and choose appropriate cosmetics and clothing.
Objective: To describe the satisfaction of nursing learners with training activities of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. Methods: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 199 subjects who were trainned at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital. They are at diploma, bachelor and master nursing level and worked as healthcare provided at health facilities. The questionnaire with 5 points Likert scale was used to collect data from February 2022 to May 2022. Results: The mean of overall satisfaction with training activities was 3.9 comparing with 5 – maximum value, in which learners show the highest satisfaction with the course about ethics, manners, personality (3.97) and at least the course about meeting personal expectations (3.84). The mean of the components of satisfaction were as follow: training program (3.92), lecturer (3.870, assessment of learning process (3.99), learning environment (3.87). Conclusion: The satisfaction of nursing learners with the training activities of Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital is quite high (3.95), the mean of each component is not asymptotic at level 5 (completely satisfied). In this respect, improving the quality of training are important to promote satisfaction of nursing learners in particular and learners in general.
Objective: to describe the knowledge and to identify associated factors towards patient safety among nurses working at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital in 2021. Methodology: A cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 346 nurses working at Hanoi Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital from January 1, 2021 to June 31, 2021. The data were collected from nurses by using a questionnaire which based on patient safety guidelines published by Ministry of Health. Results: The nurse’s level of good knowledge towards patient safety was 65.9%. Only age, educational qualification, having training on patient safety, taking care of patients directly were factors significantly associated with knowledge towards patient safety. In detail, nurses who were more than 40 years olds had good knowledge towards patient safety was 3.47 times compared with the younger group; nures with postgraduate degree had good knowledge of patient safety was more than 2.9 times compared with the group of nurses with lower qualifications; Nurses who had been patient safety training and who took care of patients directly had good knowlegde of patient safety were 1.8 times and 2.56 times in comparison with the group of nurses without patient safety training and did not take care of patients directly. Conclusion: the percentage of nurses with good knowledge of patient safety was low. Factors related to patient safety knowledge of nurses included: age, education qualification, having training in patient safety and directly taking care of patients. Therefore, it is necessary to perform continuing education and improve the capacity of nurses on patient safety, especially prioritizing infection control.
