The purpose of this study was to investigate the influence of intellectual capital of Turkish automotive supplier industry upon their innovation performance. This study showed that three types of intellectual capital-employee capital, structural capital, and customer capital-had a significantly positive relationship with innovation performance. Moreover, the results also indicated that the higher the growth rate of an industry, the stronger were the positive relationships between three types of intellectual capital and innovation performance. Besides, customer capital was the greatest among these three types of intellectual capital in Turkish automotive supplier industry, employee capital was the next, and structural capital was the least. This shows two points; first, Turkish automotive supplier industry emphasized the interactive "relations" with their suppliers, clients, and partners; second, it was imperative for Turkish manufacturing enterprises to develop their structural capital to increase their innovation performance.
Bu çalışmanın amacı materyalizm, marka sadakati ve marka-benlik uyumu arasındaki ilişkinin incelenmesidir. Bu bağlamda materyalizmin marka sadakati ve marka-benlik uyumu üzerindeki etkileri ile marka sadakatinin marka-benlik uyumu üzerindeki etkileri araştırmada incelenecektir. Araştırmanın verileri yapılandırılmış anket formu vasıtasıyla toplamda 313 kişiden yüz yüze toplanmıştır. Anketler yüksek tüketim eğilimlerinden dolayı üniversite öğrencilerine uygulanmıştır. Elde edilen bu verilerin SPSS 20 paket programları ile analizleri gerçekleştirilmiş ve raporlanmıştır. Araştırmanın sonuçlarına göre materyalizm ile marka sadakati arasında, materyalizm ile marka-benlik uyumu arasında ve marka sadakati ile markabenlik uyumu arasında anlamlı bir ilişki olduğu gözlenmiştir. Araştırmanın iki temel sınırlılığı bulunmaktadır. İlk olarak araştırma Konya'da gerçekleştirilmiştir. İkinci olarak spor giyim endüstrisi bağlamında gerçekleştirilmiştir. Farklı çalışmalarda farklı değişkenler ile araştırılan materyalizm ve marka sadakatinin marka-benlik uyumu değişkeni ile incelenmesi teorik bağlamda literatüre katkı sağlayacaktır.
The importance of information technology/systems (IT/IS) to support current and future manufacturing operations has been widely recognized in the literature. Changes in the business environment represented by tough competition and variation in customer requirements are driving manufacturing organizations to adopt the concept of agile manufacturing. For an organization, agility means the capability to grow and prosper in an environment of continuous and unpredictable changes driven by customer-designed products and services. Agile Manufacturing (AM) is a manufacturing paradigm that focuses on smaller scale, modular production facilities, and agile operations capable of dealing with turbulent and changing environments. This empirical study explored the impact of the IT on business performance in an AM setting for in textile industry. The results indicate that IT had positive influences on business performance for textile industry. In conclusion, the assessment of the results along with future research directions is provided.
In the recent years, due to the existence of innumerable companies, it has become quite difficult to gain advantage in competitiveness. Considering the fact that differentiated activities, strategies and policies of companies or the company resources can easily be imitated by the rivals and the advantage can be lost; the gained advantage in competitiveness should not be for short term and has to carry the necessary qualities for sustainability (Güle and Bülbül, 2005). In this way, the companies can have a long term relationship with their customers which will bring customer loyalty and long term profit. In addition to the customer loyalty, there are some other conditions that the companies should meet to be preferred. These can be listed as reducing the costs in the production phase; flexibility in meeting the changing needs and demands of the customers fastly and punctually and putting the quality first. The approach of focusing on the customers to secure advantage in competitiveness, brought the approach of Customer Relationship Management. At this point, collecting information about the customers and using them in order to produce unique products and services has become one of the main conditions of an effective and sustainable supremacy in the competition. In this paper, exemplar companies which gained speed, quality and flexibility in their products and services due to their successful implementation of CRM will be analyzed in detail in order to explain the effect of successful CRM implementations in the protection of long-term advantage in competitiveness.
