This study has a plan to measure the level of knowledge and perceptions regarding polio vaccination in south Punjab, Pakistan. To examine the dominant source of awareness concerning utilized communication channels in the Polio vaccination campaign a total of 200 respondents (100 couples) were selected as the studys sample by applying the systematic random sampling technique. The findings of the study revealed that the majority of the respondents shared the poor knowledge about Polio. As it was found that, females were more conscious and responsible towards their children as compared to their counterparts. It was also found that males were the decision making authority regarding the polio vaccination of their children. The females seemed more convinced as compared to male respondents towards polio immunization. But, they had sufficient knowledge about the importance of polio vaccination. The television was the major information source of Polio vaccination among most of the respondents.
Excessive social media usage can be harmful to the mental health of individuals. The core objective of the study was to inspect the effects of social media usage on mental health. Secondly, to find out the mean differences of gender, social media and mental health. A cross-sectional research design was utilized to fulfil the study objectives. n=1067 students from six different universities in Punjab, Pakistan, were selected through a multi-stage sampling technique. Data was collected through an adapted questionnaire comprised of three distinct parts, i.e. socio-demographic profile, social media integration scale by Maree (2017) and Goldberg depression scale (1993), to check the social media effects on mental health among youth. Attained replies were analyzed by using SPSS analysis software version 21. Furthermore, to check the direction and consistency of the relationship among these variables, Pearson correlation was applied, which demonstrated a negative relationship between social media usage and mental health problems at p<.000. This study concluded a negative influence of excessive social media usage on mental health among youth in public universities of Punjab, Pakistan.
The COVID-19 outbreak has compelled the globe to utilize virtual learning on a global scale. The present issue is unparalleled in scope, even though online and distant learning have been employed to ensure educational continuity in the wake of earthquakes in the past. It's now possible to speculate on the long-term impacts of COVID- 19 and how education may change in the post-COVID age as a result of this pandemic, several higher education institutions throughout the world have decided to close their campuses permanently and move their academic responsibilities to online platforms. The universities were not prepared for such a transition, and their online teaching-learning process grew in stages over a period of time. This research performed a survey in which the researchers questioned the university students studying in public sector universities located in South Punjab Province of Pakistan about their perspective on numerous elements of online education during this prevailing epidemic. The researchers collected the answers from 365 students respectively. Although the teachers' online teaching skills have reportedly improved since the beginning of the pandemic, students believe that online education is still beneficial in the current climate of uncertainty. The software and online study tools that are being used to improve online education have received positive feedback from the students. Students, on the other hand, believe that online education is time-consuming and might be detrimental to their health and social life. These outbreaks have resulted in a greater acceptance of online education, and the insights we acquire now will be beneficial in the long run. This study attempts to investigate the effects of Turkish drama on University students. Drama plays influential role in changing life style of its audience. Through drama viewers come to know the diverse values of different cultures and it has a different effect on different audience. University level students are more expose to media especially with television drama and current study is an attempt to gauge the effects of Turkish drama on youth. The students of Punjab University Lahore, GC University Faisalabad, University of Gujrat and The Islamia University of Bahawalpur are selected as respondents. The study is qualitative and quantitative in nature and non-probability sampling technique is used for data collection. Questionnaires were distributed in 400 respondents and hypotheses were also constituted to envisage the general perception. The data collected through questionnaire accepted two hypothesis while on of the hypothesis was rejected. The study finding states that Turkish dramas are good source of entertainment but these dramas are not challenging basic teachings of Islam and it has made no effects on our norms. On the basis of findings, suitable recommendations are suggested.
