Background/Aims: To assess whether a basic nutrition course for residents at a faculty hospital improves their knowledge of nutrition and increases the number of consultation requests for nutrition by alerting participants to the high prevalence of undernutrition in hospitals. Methods: The residents from 34 departments of basic, internal and surgical sciences were recruited to take a 1-day course. Questionnaires, designed to assess knowledge of nutrition, were completed at the beginning and at the end of the course. The results of the questionnaires and the number of consultation demands for nutrition before and after the course were compared. Results: The results of 161 participants were evaluated. The mean (±SE) numbers of correct answers given to the first and second questionnaires were 14.9 ± 0.22 and 18.7 ± 0.21, respectively (p < 0.01). When the number of requests for nutrition consultation during 7-month periods (just before and after the course) were compared, the mean number of requests in each month during these periods were found to be 1.81 ± 0.58 and 4.06 ± 1.20, respectively (p < 0.01). Conclusions: A short course of basic nutrition for residents improves their basic knowledge and leads to an increase in the number of consultation requests for nutritional support.
Bu çalışmanın amacı Türkiye'de engelli bireylerin uzaktan eğitimi konusunda yapılan lisansüstü tezlerin yöntemsel eğilimlerini, türlerini, tezlerde incelenen engel durumlarını, konularını, ders alanı ve değişken türlerini belirlemektir. Bu amaçla Türkiye Yükseköğretim Kurulu Başkanlığı (YÖK) ulusal tez merkezinde yer alan lisansüstü tezler taranmış ve on dört adet lisansüstü tez analiz edilmiştir. İçerik analizi yönteminin kullanıldığı bu çalışmada ulusal tez merkezinden indirilen lisansüstü tezler araştırmacılar tarafından hazırlanan analiz formu kullanılarak analiz edildi. Çalışma sonucunda, engellilerin uzaktan eğitimi ile ilgili yapılan ilk tezin 1986 yılına ait olduğu ve 2000'li yıllarda az da olsa tez sayısının arttığı görülmektedir. İncelenen tezlerde en çok nitel ve nicel araştırma yöntemlerinin kullanıldığı belirlenmiştir. Tezlerin örneklem grubunu ise en çok zihinsel engelli bireylerin oluşturduğu tespit edildi. İncelenen tezlerin en çok yüksek lisans tezi düzeyinde ve bilgisayar mühendisliği anabilim dalı bünyesinde gerçekleştirildiği görülmektedir. Ayrıca, çalışma sonucunda yapılan tezlerin en çok Trakya ve Anadolu Üniversitelerinde yürütüldüğü görülmektedir. Sonuç olarak, konu ile ilgili yapılan lisansüstü tez sayısının az olduğu belirlenmiş ve araştırmacılara yönelik çeşitli önerilerde bulunulmuştur.
The study aimed to determine whether there is a difference between the perceptions of pre-service teachers’ problem-solving skills according to various factors. 297 pre-service teachers from Afyon Kocatepe University Faculty of Education in the province of Afyonkarahisar in Turkey participated in the study. The group hidden figures test was used to determine the cognitive styles of pre-service teachers. The problem-solving inventory was used to measure the perceptions of problem-solving skills. According to the findings, it was found that the perception of problem-solving skills of pre-service teachers was high. It was observed that the candidates also perceived themselves as having these approaches in all sub-dimensions. According to the research results, problem-solving perception does not affect the way of approaching the problem. Male and female candidates’ perceptions of problem-solving skills are not directly related to gender. Candidates’ perceptions vary according to the grade level.
