PurposeThe purpose of this article is to present a systematic review of scientific production on career stages in the last decade (2011–2020). More specifically, it seeks to understand the methodological approaches, how career stages have been operationalized in research in the Management field, and the main results of these researches.Design/methodology/approachThe authors searched articles about career stages on the Web of Science database published between 2011 and 2020. The final portfolio for the systematic review included 20 article based on pre-established criteria for the selection.FindingsThe results present an overview of these articles, as well as the methodological approaches used. The authors confirmed that there is no consensus on the operationalization of the career stage. Five topics associated with career stages were discussed: workers' attitudes and behaviors; training and mentoring; intentions; perception of success and work-life balance; and work values.Originality/valueThe authors found no other studies concerning the review of scientific production on career stages and divergences in the operationalization of the theme. However, considering the large number of research studies that deal with careers and their stages, it is relevant to discuss how the career stages can be operationalized and whether their operationalization is valid.
RESUMOdificuldade em conciliar as demandas do trabalho e da família tem contribuído para que homens e mulheres regularmente enfrentem conflitos entre essas duas esferas. O conflito trabalho-família, decorrente da incompatibilidade de pressões de papéis profissionais e familiares vem sendo o cerne de diversos trabalhos, principalmente na literatura internacional. Visando reduzir os impactos negativos causados por tais conflitos, as organizações e os governos de vários países têm proposto políticas para auxiliar na harmonia entre trabalho e família. Diante disso, o objetivo desse trabalho é analisar como as políticas de apoio à família que visam reduzir o conflito trabalho-família se diferem entre países e de acordo com o gênero, tanto no que diz respeito à oferta, quanto à sua utilização. Para atingir esse propósito, foi feita uma pesquisa bibliográfica em periódicos de destaque (como Employee Relations, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resource Management, Journal of Family Issues, Personnel Review, Revista de Administração Contemporânea, entre outros) com publicações sobre a temática nos últimos anos. Foi possível verificar a importância do contexto social para a compreensão dessas políticas e como elas são percebidas pelos trabalhadores.ABSTRACT he difficulty in reconciling the demands of work and family has contributed to the fact that men and women regularly face conflicts between these two spheres. The workfamily conflict, due to the incompatibility of pressures of professional and family roles, has been the core of several studies, especially in the international literature. In order to reduce the negative impacts caused by such conflicts, organizations and governments in various countries have proposed policies to assist in the harmony between work and family. Therefore, the objective of this study is to analyze how family support policies that aim to reduce the work-family conflict differ between countries and according to gender, both in terms of supply and use. To achieve this purpose, a bibliographical research was carried out in prominent journals (such as Employee Relations, Equality, Diversity and Inclusion, Human Resource Management, Journal of Family Issues, Personnel Review, Revista de Administração Contemporânea and others) with publications on the subject in the last years. It was possible to verify the importance of the social context to the understanding of these policies and how they are perceived by the workers.
RESUMOO estudo do clima organizacional é relevante para todos os tipos de empresas, independente de seu porte, pois exerce influência na eficiência e no desenvolvimento da organização. Para esta pesquisa realizou-se uma revisão sistemática da literatura com o objetivo de subsidiar a construção e validação de um índice para avaliação do clima organizacional, por meio de um estudo de caso em uma empresa de varejo na cidade de Formiga -MG. Para atingir o objetivo proposto foi desenvolvido um questionário visando reduzir a subjetividade do modelo de Kolb (KOLB et al.,1986). Os testes estatísticos Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) e Alpha de Cronbach foram aplicados e dentre as questões propostas para as sete dimensões do modelo, apenas aquelas pertencentes a cinco dimensões apresentaram resultados válidos: clareza organizacional, responsabilidade, liderança, padrões e recompensas. Como forma de subsidiar a tomada de decisão do gestor foram desenvolvidos dois modelos de regressão, nos quais utilizou-se o índice score (soma das médias das notas obtidas em cada dimensão do modelo) como variável dependente e os constructos selecionados por meio da Análise dos Componentes Principais como variáveis explicativas. Por meio da análise dos modelos de regressão desenvolvidos identificou-se que dentre os variados aspectos do clima organizacional estudados, os constructos pertencentes às dimensões "liderança" e "padrões" foram os que apresentaram maior sensibilidade no clima organizacional, sendo, portanto, as dimensões mais relevantes e que requerem mais atenção por parte dos gestores.
The objective of this article is to analyze Corporate Social Responsibility practices that contribute to the balance between work and family from the perspective of working women in the industrial sector. Such practices in this paper include flexibility in working hours, parttime work, home office, extended licenses, and managerial and social support. Qualitative and descriptive research included field research and interviewed fifteen women workers from three major Brazilian industries and documentary research. Data analysis was done through content analysis. Based on the research findings, it was noticed that Corporate Social Responsibility practices directed at the family of workers are not enough for them to balance their lives between work and family, a result that deserves consideration by employees and employers.
O presente estudo objetivou explorar a relação entre as atitudes (sob a forma de interesse e disposição em relação à Matemática) e o desempenho no que se refere à Matemática em alunos do 9º ano do ensino fundamental de escolas públicas. Participaram 15 estudantes matriculados no Cursinho Pré-IFMG (short course Pre-IFMG), turma de 2015, que estavam presentes na data da aplicação do questionário e que fizeram os dois simulados aplicados durante o curso. Aplicou-se, coletivamente, a Escala de Atitudes em Relação à Matemática (EARM). A média das notas de Matemática nos simulados foi comparada com o score da EARM a fim de comparar atitudes e desempenho. Os resultados revelaram que, de forma moderada, os alunos com maiores scores na EARM, isto é, os mais satisfeitos e que demonstram atitudes positivas quanto à Matemática, são aqueles que obtiveram maiores notas nos simulados. Ao final, é apresentada a limitação da pesquisa quanto ao tamanho da amostra assim como sugestões para pesquisas futuras.Palavras-Chave: Matemática. EARM. Correlação e Análise Estatística.AbstractAnalysis of relationship between attitudes and performance in math of the students of cursinho pré-ifmgThis study aimed to explore the relationship between attitudes (in the form of interest and disposition towards mathematics) and performance in relation to mathematics of students from 9th grade of elementary education in public schools. The participants were 15 students enrolled in Cursinho Pré-IFMG, class of 2015, who were present at the time of the interview and did the two trial tests applied during the course. The Attitude Scale in Relation to Mathematics (MRSA) was applied collectively. The average math scores on the trial tests were compared to the score of MRSA in order to compare attitudes and performance. The results revealed that, in a moderate way, students with higher scores on MRSA, ie, the most satisfied and demonstrate positive attitudes towards mathematics are those who obtained higher scores on the trial tests. Finally, the limitation of the research is presented as the sample size as well as the suggestions for future research.Keywords: Mathematics. MRSA. Correlation and Statistical Analysis.
