Annealed silicon dioxide (SiO2) has been prepared by various annealing temperatures at 0 (without treatment, room temperature), 800 °C, 900 °C and 1000 °C denote as S0, S800, S900 and S1000. The properties of the annealed SiO2 were characterized by three methods. The functional groups were identified using FTIR, the band gap energy was determined using UV-Vis DR, and the morphological properties of SiO2 were determined using SEM. FTIR data show that the characteristic functional groups of annealed silicon dioxide are Si−O−Si, Si−Si, −OH, H−Si−Si−H (monohydride), dan Si−OH. The band gap energy values for annealed SiO2 at S0, S800, S900 and S1000 were 2.27; 2.27; 2.26; 2.22 eV. The morphology of silicon dioxide shows that silicon dioxide has irregular shape and size, it has sharp angles accompanied by small flakes on the surface, the particle size is estimated to be around 3-10 μm.
Reeds biomass has been successfully extracted. It calcinated with annealing temperatures at 800 °C (A800), 850 °C (A850), and 900 °C (A900). The x-ray pattern showed that it has a cristoballite (SiO2) crystal structure. The band gap energy values are 3.8 eV, 3.7 eV and 4.7 eV, respectively. FTIR spectra show the groups are silanol, siloxane, and monohydride. Quantitatively, it provide results to determine the optical properties and dielectric functions which indicate shift to longer wavelengths with an increase in annealing temperature. Maraknya menanam tanaman dengan cara hidroponik saat ini, banyak digemari karena tidak memerlukan tanah dan lahan yang luas. Dengan menanam dengan cara hidroponik, hasil panen akan lebih cepat namun perlu untuk memperhatikan ketepatan dalam pemberian nutrisi, intensitas cahaya dan suhu sekitar tanaman. Seperti yang telah dilakukan UKM Maestro Borneo Hidroponik Farm bahwa menanam hidroponik dengan metode NFT (Nutrient Film Technique) dibutuhkan aliran air yang tetap terjaga, tujuannya untuk mengalirkan air nutrisi pada akar tanaman. Dalam praktiknya, PLN digunakan untuk menghidupkan pompa air tersebut namun bila suplai energi dari PLN mati akibat gangguan maka pasokan nutrisi tanaman juga akan ikut terhenti sehingga diperlukan suatu solusi. Dalam kegiatan pengabdian ini, penulis akan menerapkan sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) yang tentunya system PLTS ini dapat menjadi sumber energi alternatif dalam sistem pengairan untuk memasok nutrisi ke tanaman hidroponik tersebut. Selain itu juga dengan adanya kombinasi PLTS pada system hidroponik ini menjadi salah satu usaha penulis untuk mendukung program pemerintah dalam penggunaan energi terbarukan.
