Trees and shrubs of the genus Cordia are widely distributed in the warmer regions, including Indonesia. The aim of this study was to evaluate the analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties of the ethanolic extract of plant leaves in Wistar albino rats. The analgesic activity was evaluated using the hot plate method and acetic acid-induced writhing, and the anti-inflammatory activity was determined using carrageenan-induced paw oedema. The results showed that the Cordia sebestena ethanol extract (100, 200 and 400 mg/kg) exhibited significant analgesic effects in a dose-dependent manner in the two pain models tested. The extract also exhibited significant anti-inflammatory effects in the carrageenan-induced inflammation test. The data obtained support the traditional folklore therapeutic claim about its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties. Nonetheless, further scientific investigation is required to establish its analgesic and anti-inflammatory properties in other experimental models and clinical settings.
Antioxidants are needed by the body to ward of free radicals from internal and external factors. The presence of free radicals is related to human helath conditions. Back to nature lifestyle and the high cost of drugs therapy makes people preferring to use traditional medicine. Jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam) leaves is contain several secondary metabolites such a flavanoids, alkaloids, sapaonins, steroids and tannins. Flavanoid have an antioxidant effect. In this study, the antioxidant activity of ethanol jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam) leaves extract was tested using 1,1-diphenyl-2-picrylhidrazyl (DPPH) method by UV-Vis Spectrophotometry, wich Vitamin C as comparison standart. Acute toxicity test was carried out by giving oral doses of ethanol jackfruit leaf extract to 4 groups of male rats. Group I as a control (aquadest);II(100mg/30gBW);III (150mg/30gBW); IV (200mg/30gBW) were then observed for 7 days. The antioxidant activity test showed that ethanol jackfruit (Artocarpus heterophyllus Lam) leaves extract had effectiveness as an antioxidant with an IC50 value of 58.58 ppm. The data were analyzed using one-way ANOVA showing sig value 0.228, which means (P>0.005), then followed by post hoc test, an average value of 0.00,probability value is 1.000 (sig>0.005). It can be concluded that there is no significant difference between the control and the treatment dose of 100mg, and there is a significant difference in the 150mg/30gBW, 200mg/30gBW dose groups. LD50 value dosage range in 150mg and 200mg.
Patient waiting time is a tangible manifestation of the performance of human resources. Based on the results of a preliminary study conducted by researchers on November 5, 2021 at the NTB Provincial Hospital, the problems that exist in the filing are delays in returning medical record files from inpatient care, incorrect file storage, wide medical record filing space, so the waiting time for the provision of medical record files not up to standard. The purpose of the study was to identify the characteristics and performance of medical record officers in the filing section of the NTB Provincial Hospital. This type of research is descriptive with a cross sectional design. The population of all medical record officers is 45 people with a sample of 25 people. The sampling technique used incidental sampling, data collection using a questionnaire. Data processing uses editing, coding, data entry, cleaning and data analysis using quantitative analysis with descriptive statistics, frequency distribution of characteristic variables and performance of medical record officers. The results of the research on the characteristics of medical record officers at the NTB Provincial Hospital showed that the average age was >30 years 60%, female sex 52%, diploma education 60%, training 96%, knowledge 88%, years of service >1 year 96%, and the performance level of medical record officers at the NTB Provincial Hospital in the sufficient category is 64%. The suggestion is that medical record officers need to increase knowledge through education as a medical recorder, the higher the education, the better the performance in carrying out the main tasks and functions included in the administration of medical record services at the NTB Provincial Hospital.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
