Nutrition Education to Pregnant Woman Prevent Stunting in Pregnant Woman Class. Stunting reflects the existence of chronic malnutrition problems, which influenced by the condition nutrition status of the prospective mother, during pregnancy, and baby 1000 first days of life (1000 HPK) It's also influenced by health status on 1000 HPK. Stunting has a long-term adverse impact of declining cognitive ability and learning achievement decreased immunity and high risk for the emergence of diabetes, obesity, cardiovascular disease, cancer, stroke, and disability when they adults. It's will lead to poor quality of work. Improvement efforts have needed for stunting prevention through specific nutritional interventions, particularly during pregnancy. Antenatal class is one measurement that can be used to disseminate information for behavior change relating to nutrition and healthiness during pregnancy to prevent stunting. This study aims to obtain the influence of the antenatal class toward knowledge and attitude improvement on stunting prevention. Pre-experimental design (one group pre-test post-test) with a sample of 35 first trimester pregnant women without complications, which are given antenatal class three times. Data retrieved with instruments of pre and post-intervention (antenatal class). Data were analyzed using a paired t-test for the knowledge variables and the Wilcoxon test for attitudinal variables. There was a significant influence of the antenatal class toward knowledge and attitude improvement on stunting prevention (p-value<0,05). The antenatal class increases pregnant women's knowledge and attitude on stunting prevention.
BACKGROUND: Undernutrition, malnutrition, and stunting all have a detrimental effect on the developing newborn. Nutzritional problems are prevented when the mother and family provide proper nutrition, which involves assistance from the community. Support from the community must be established through the empowerment of posyandu cadres who educate and motivate mothers and families about proper infant and young child feeding (IYCF). AIM: The study’s objective was to assess the impact of complementary feeding training on infant feeding patterns. METHODS: The study employed an incomparable control group. The sample consists of 50 currently active posyandu cadres (25 persons in the intervention group and 25 persons in the control group). Analysis was performed using the t test, independent t test, Wilcoxon, and Mann–Whitney test. RESULTS: Significant changes in knowledge, attitudes, and communication abilities were discovered between cadres who received training (intervention group) and those who did not (control group) before to and during the intervention. Cadres who have been taught have a significant impact on baby feeding practices. CONCLUSION: It was recommended that health cadres be included into health promotion activities, particularly IYCF for women and families.
Objective: The objective of this study was to know the effect of participatory counseling on increasing breastfeeding self-efficacy (BSE) in pregnant women in Bogor city, Indonesia. Methods: The pre-experimental design method, namely, one group pretest-posttest, with the number of study subjects was 35 third trimester pregnant women with normal reproductive age without complications in the Bogor City. Data analysis was performed by univariable and bivariable by Friedman test and Wilcoxon post hoc test and multivariable using linear regression test. Results: Participatory counseling has an effect on increasing breastfeeding efficacy in pregnant women (p<0.001), while confounding variables (education, parity, own breastfeeding experience, and other’s experience of breastfeeding) have no significant effect on increasing BSE in pregnant women (p>0.05). Conclusion: Participatory counseling increases BSE in pregnant women.
