Strategic supply chain management has gained more importance with the effect of globalization. In today's global market, well-managed supply chain is one of the most important requirements to be successful in the market. The main idea of the supply chain management is generation of good relationships between chain members to serve customers accurately. Indeed, the definitive operation levels between supply chain members determine the quality of final product/service in a supply chain. Since supply chain success highly depends on a strong collaboration between chain members, the supplier selection is a strategic decision making process which affects all supply chain performance. This strategic decision-making process involves evaluation of tangible and intangible criteria to select right suppliers with multiple objectives. Hence, supplier selection problem can be considered as a multi-criteria decision problem. In this study, the supplier selection problem is solved in a service supply chain by using one of the popular multi-criteria decision making method, analytical network process (ANP).
Quality of care is crucial for patients' satisfaction and safety in healthcare centers. The majority of hospitals attempt to implement facility-wide improvements to ensure high-quality care delivery. This study aims to propose a combined Simulation-Optimization and MCDM approach to accurately assess the impact of quality improvement initiatives on different facets of healthcare systems. In this framework, first, the importance (weights) of the different healthcare criteria is determined by health providers’ using an AHP approach. Then, the weights provided by AHP are applied in a simulation-optimization environment to determine the most efficient action with the most desirable quality of care. Simulation provides a platform to examine the effectiveness of different improvement efforts and calculate their impact on the system performance measures.
Problemin çözümü için belirsizlik durumunda karar problemlerinin çözülmesinde etkin sonuç veren Gri ilişkisel temelli TOPSIS (Technique for Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) yöntemi kullanılmıştır. Yöntemin ilgili problemin çözümündeki performansını gözlemlemek amacıyla çalışmanın uygulama bölümünde Türkiye'de faaliyet gösteren bir tekstil firmasının tedarikçi seçim süreci ele alınmıştır.
Service products are mostly produced and consumed simultaneously through interaction between customer and service providers. To prevent external failures in service operations, it is important to identify potential risks and take relevant actions to eliminate or reduce the occurrence. Therefore, risk assessment is vital to customer satisfaction in any service organization. Failure mode and effects analysis (FMEA) is an effective and useful tool for risk assessment. Although FMEA has been extensively studied in the manufacturing literature, there are a limited number of studies considering the application of FMEA in the hospitality industry. In traditional FMEA, the risk priority of failure modes is determined by generating a crisp risk priority number (RPN). However, it has been claimed in the literature that crisp RPN doesn't have a good performance in reflecting real-life situations. To overcome this shortcoming, a fuzzy hybrid FMEA method is developed. The proposed method has been tested on a case study in a five-star hotel to assess its applicability and benefits.
