This research aims to study the practice of religious tolerance cultivation in Islamic educational institutions. Four major Islamic boarding schools in Indonesia were selected as model schools having implemented tolerance in various areas of student life. The strategies for ethical tolerance cultivation implemented in model schools were analyzed and the data were collected through interviews and observations using questionnaires. It can be concluded that the tolerance cultivation in Islamic boarding school was carried out by means of moral habituation or tolerant ethics exemplified by the Kyai and Ustadz as religious leaders. Additionally, the learning methods adopted and the content knowledge delivered to students were designed to strongly supports the growth of tolerance and plurarism amongts students.
Philosophy of Science is the study of all human life and thought phenomena critically and described in basic concepts. Philosophy is necessary for proving an accident or phenomenon and substance because, with philosophy, it can be proven that something exists or might exist. After all, with reason, a substance can be proven, and that the substance was formed from philosophy. There are two objects of study in the philosophy of science: a) material objects and b) formal objects. The scope of the philosophy of science is threefold, namely: a) Ontology, b) Epistemology, and c) Axiology. There are ten basic methods of philosophy of science, but in this study, the author only discusses three methods: a) Positivism Method, b) Phenomenological Method, and c) Critical Method. The purpose of the philosophy of science is to break the confinement of the human mind. By understanding and studying philosophy, humans can break the ice, rigidity, and even confinement of their minds by re-questioning everything that exists. Abstrak: Filsafat Ilmu adalah studi tentang seluruh fenomena kehidupan dan pemikiran manusia secara kritis dan dijabarkan dalam konsep mendasar. Filsafat sangat dibutuhkan dalam membuktikan suatu aksiden atau fenomena dan Subtansi karena dengan filsafat bisa terbukti sesuatu itu ada atau mungkin ada, karena dengan akal bisa dibuktikan suatu substansi dan substansi itu terbentuknya dari filsafat. Objek Kajian dalam Filsafat Ilmu ada dua, yaitu: a) Objek Material dan b) Objek Formal. Ruang lingkup filsafat ilmu ada tiga, yaitu: a) Ontologi, b) Epistimologi dan c) Aksiologi. Metode filsafat ilmu pada dasarnya ada sepuluh metode, akan tetapi dalam kajian ini penulis hanya membahas tiga metode, yaitu: a) Metode Positivisme b) Metode Fenomenologi dan c) Metode Kritis. This research examines how the process of instilling the values of Islamic education in SMP Negeri 4 Jambi City. the aim is to describe and analyze the general picture of the religious character of students and the process of instilling the values of Islamic education in SMP Negeri 4 Jambi City. The method used in this research is descriptive qualitative method, and the type of research used is field research. The subjects of this study were PAI teachers and students at SMP Negeri 4 Jambi City, while the object of the research was the inculcation of Islamic educational values in improving the religious character of students at SMP Negeri 4 Jambi City. The results of this study indicate that PAI teachers have carried out the process of instilling the values of Islamic education using (1) innovative teaching methods by making self-study modules and PAI pocket books for students, (2) modeling greetings, shaking hands, tolerant and guiding students in each activity, (3) habituation by making the Dzhuhur prayer program in congregation, monthly yasinan, tahfidz juz 'amma, as well as accustoming students to mutual tolerance between religions (4) motivation and enforcement of rules such as giving advice and reprimands for actions committed student. Penelitian ini mengkaji tentang bagaimana proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam di SMP Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. tujuannya adalah mendeskripsikan dan menganalisa gambaran umum karakter religius siswa dan proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam di SMP Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. Metode yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, dan jenis penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian lapangan (field recearch). Subjek dari penelitian ini adalah guru PAI dan siswa di SMP Negeri 4 Kota Jambi, sedangkan objek penelitiannya adalah penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dalam peningkatan karakter religius siswa di SMP Negeri 4 Kota Jambi. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa guru PAI telah melakukan proses penanaman nilai-nilai pendidikan Islam dengan metode (1) pengajaran yang inovatif dengan membuat modul belajar sendiri serta buku saku PAI untuk siswa, (2) peneladanan untuk mengucapkan salam, berjabat tangan, bertoleransi serta membimbing siswa dalam setiap kegiatan, (3) pembiasaan dengan membuat program sholat dzhuhur berjama’ah, yasinan bulanan, tahfidz juz ‘amma, serta membiasakan siswa untuk saling toleransi antar agama (4) motivasi dan penegakkan aturan seperti memberi nasihat dan teguran atas perbuatan yang dilakukan siswa.
Tradisi 'Nujuh Bulanan' dilakukan pada saat usia kandungan menginjak tujuh bulan. Tradisi ini bertujuan untuk mendoakan ibu dan anak yang dikandung karena pada usia tujuh bulan ini, kandungan telah terbentuk dengan sempurna. Beberapa aspek penting yang dikaji antara lain apa yang menjadi dasar pembacaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an pada tradisi nujuh bulanan ini, bagaimana proses pembacaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an dalam tradisi ini, serta makna pembacaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an pada tradisi ini. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif lapangan yang menggunakan metode deskriptif analitik. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa pembacaan ayat-ayat Al-Qur’an pada Tradisi Nujuh Bulanan menunjukkan adanya permohonan keselamatan, kemulian, dan menyiratkan kecintaan serta meneladani figur-figur penting baik Nabi maupun orang terhormat.
This article aims to reveal the strengthening of the tendency of Islamic fundamentalism in Indonesia in the Action to Defend Islam that occurred during the period 2016 to 2018. In its implementation, this action always voices Islamic symbols in a textual and rigid manner, for example “non-Muslims who disbelieve” and the prohibition on making disbelievers as leaders. Uniquely, these actions were not carried out with any violence, neither did they trigger violence in the name of religion. Why did this action not lead to religious violence even though this action was clearly in the name of religion? This study finds that there are at least three factors that prevent this action of Islamic fundamentalism from acts of religious violence, namely: first, moderate Muslim infiltration in carrying out the actions, second, there is support from great scholars such as Ustadz Arifin Ilham and Ustad AA Gym who are known to be gentle and polite to all parties, and the third is the content of the Islamic Defense Action activity which is dominated by dhikr which is ritual prayer or a litany practiced by Muslims for the purpose of glorifying God and attaining spiritual excellence and general prayer.
