This paper is to review the effectiveness of integration programs between the Royal Malaysian Police (RMP), Malaysian Armed Forces (MAF) and the Jabatan Perpaduan Negara dan Integrasi Nasional (JPNIN) to reduce the crime index for the residential area in Malaysia. The government has announced the Six National Key Result Areas (NKRA) policy with visions to reduce crime rates, to fight corruption, to provide affordable quality education, to improve the value of life, to enhance the infrastructure in rural areas and to upgrade transport links. The Malaysian government has taken an integrated and systematic approach. First, the community needs to reduce the number of serious criminal cases such as burglary. Second, public awareness should be enhanced by encouraging their participation as volunteers. Third, by using a fair and a collective criminal system can strengthen the good organization in terms of enforcement, especially the RMP, then the public confidence will be achieved. As part of these efforts, the crime laboratory has conducted workshops with the participation of more than 30 government agencies with selected non-governmental organisations (NGOs). In order to ensure resource sharing, collaboration and responsibility, the goals of GTP is not only to reduce crime rates, but the contributions to minimise the government's budgets by avoiding building new facilities.

Issues related to the community resilience became more popular after the earthquake and Tsunami tragedy in the Indian Ocean and Aceh, Indonesia, 2004. The community resilience is the ability of communities to withstand and mitigate the stress of a disaster, there is less clearness on the detailed resilience-building process. The risk perception is concerns how an individual understands and experiences the phenomenon and believed to affect people’s preparedness for, responses to and recovery from natural disasters. Aims of this study are to identify the relationship between the community resilience elements such as community experience, community exposure, community reaction, community attitude, community knowledge and the community risk perception using survey gathered from 542 samples of Banda Aceh Province community, Aceh, Indonesia. Results found out there is a significant relationship between the community resilience elements such as community experience, community exposure, community reaction, community attitude, community knowledge and the community risk perception. Statistically, results confirm that the implementation of the community resilience elements such as community experience, community exposure, community reaction, community attitude, and community knowledge act as an important determinant of community risk perception towards disasters risk management at Banda Aceh Province community.

<p>The green environment through electronic government is seen increasingly more useful in today’s economy and business due to its effectiveness and applicability in various fields. Paperless is the reduction of paper usage practiced by the employees in many workplaces which is an important element in national electronic government today. Despite the rapid acculturation of paperless systems in many organizations, researchers have argued that it is yet to promote and establish a paperless practice that leads to sustainable and reliable approaches especially in the working environment at the National Defense University of Malaysia (NDUM) due to high perceived profitability by the stakeholders. Evidence shows that the traditional use of the paper-based process in daily working practices leads to many weaknesses, risks, and financial burdens. This implies that it will be very important to truly embed behavioral intention (desire towards paperless practice) within a community of NDUM if individual perceptions of the use of information technology (IT) in the e-government service is the motivator factor. The paper aims to propose a study on the relationship of perceived organizational support dimensions (IT, management and peer supports) within the paperless context which is grounded by a famous theory namely Technology Acceptance Model (TAM). A literature study is used as a method to yield related findings. Thus, this paper provides a research model (conceptual) to extend the knowledge of how organizational support influences employees’ behavioral intention in practicing paperless. This study is then constructed into possible research hypotheses for future empirical researches.  The model of research will provide a beneficial guideline for strategies determination in promoting e-government services, particularly the paperless based service.</p>

Management’s commitment in an organisation plays an important role in ensuring the application of effective quality management system (QMS). This article explores the relationship between management’s commitment of an organisation that implements Shari’ah-based Quality Management System (MS1900:2014) with job satisfaction at Malaysian Higher Education Institution (HEI). The methodology of this study employed a qualitative design via a semi-structured interview conducted on selected respondents. The respondents consist of employees who are directly and actively involved with the implementation of MS1900 standard. The findings of this study show that management’s commitment has apparently influenced job satisfaction among employees at HEI. Therefore, the results of this study can serve as a guide to ensure that the implementation of quality management system based on Shari’ah standards (MS1900) can be applied effectively, blessed and rewarded by Allah SWT.
