With this era of increasingly developing technology, learning programs are directed to be able to make better use of technology. One of the current uses of technology is e-Learning using the web to access it. There is no denying that many students now have smart phones, so it is easier to access them from wherever they are and at any time. Utilization of e-learning that is commonly developed today is using LMS (Learning Management System). Quality Berastagi University is one of the universities that have utilized e-Learning as a learning medium this semester. Learning activities using e-learning media on campus utilize the E-Learing application. In the learning process, students are given assignments by the lecturer and send the results of their reports via E-Learning. In addition, students are also given additional material in order to understand more broadly the material that may not be conveyed directly when face to face in class. E-learning is an alternative media to provide test exam questions and improvised media that do not always use print media. Based on the above phenomenon, it can be said that in the learning process, a method, strategy, media, or learning model is needed that can train students' abilities in improving learning outcomes, involving student activities optimally, and making mathematics learning more meaningful and fun. Lecturers are required to choose learning media that can stimulate the enthusiasm of each student to be actively involved in their learning experience. This study aims to determine student learning activities increase with E-Learning learning media in the PGSD Study Program, Quality Berastagi University.
The inclusion of representation as a standard component of the process in Principles and Standards for School Mathematics in addition to problem solving, reasoning, communication, and connection skills is reasonable because to think mathematics and communicate mathematical ideas one needs to represent it in various forms of mathematical representation. Besides, it can not be denied that objects in mathematics are all abstract so that to learn and understand abstract ideas that would require a representation. Representation occurs through two stages, namely internal representation and external representation. Examples of external representations include: verbal, drawing and concrete objects. Thinking of a mathematical idea that allows a person's mind to work on the basis of the idea is an internal representation. A mathematical problem posed to the student and the student can solve it, so at least the student understands the problem, so that students can plan the settlement, perform the calculations appropriately, and be able to check or review what has been processed correctly. The smoothness and flexibility of students in constructing representations is largely lacking. This is evident from at least the structured algebraic form, as well as the way in which most representations are found very little. In addition, the quantitative scores of respondents in the representation are still in the low category with a moderate tendency.
Development Of Problem Based Learning Models In Improving Student Learning Results Of Berastagi University Of Mathematics. In the learning at school, mathematics is one of the subjects which is a basic lesson and a means of scientific thinking which is indispensable for students to develop their logical abilities. Mathematics education in schools aims to prepare students who can use mathematics functionally to solve problems, both in everyday life and facing other sciences. Mathematical problems faced are structured, systematic and logical so that students can implement them. Until now, in the world of education, especially in mathematics education, children still emphasize memorizing without knowing the basic concepts, so we need a learning model to improve student mathematics learning outcomes. This research was conducted for six months. First, the research makes preparations related to research such as making initial test questions. Then choose a class to do the development of the learning model by conducting a preliminary test on campus to determine student obstacles in solving questions. To obtain data, the authors distributed pre-test questions to selected students to apply the new learning model later. Processing data and comparing student result oflLearning after the development of problem-based learning models and previous ones. The conclusions from student result of learning obtained from result of learning tests after the development of problem-based learning models during teaching. The results of this study are expected that the campus can improve student mathematics Result of Learning. Dalam pembelajaran di sekolah, matematika merupakan salah satu pelajaran yang merupakan pelajaran dasar dan sarana berpikir ilmiah yang sangat diperlukan oleh mahasiswa untuk mengembangkan kemampuan logisnya. Pendidikan matematika di sekolah bertujuan untuk mempersiapkan peserta didik yang dapat menggunakan matematika secara fungsional untuk memecahkan masalah, baik dalam kehidupan sehari-hari maupun menghadapi ilmu pengetahuan lain. Masalah matematika yang dihadapi terstruktur, sistematis dan logis sehingga dapat diimplementasikan mahasiswa. Sampai sekarang dalam dunia pendidikan khususnya dalam pendidikan matematika masih lebih menekankan anak untuk menghapal tanpa mengetahui konsep dasarnya, sehingga diperlukan suatu model pembelajaran untuk meningkatkan hasil belajar matematika mahasiswa. Penelitian ini dilakukan selama enam bulan. Pertama Penelitian melakukan persiapan-persiapan yang berhubungan dengan penelitian seperti pembuatan soal tes awal. Kemudian memilih kelas untuk dilakukan pengembangan model pembelajaran dengan melakukan tes awal ke kampus untuk menentukan kendala mahasiswa dalam penyelesaian soal. Untuk memperoleh data, penulis membagikan soal tes awal kepada mahasiswa yang dipilih untuk diterapkan model pembelajaran baru nantinya. Mengolah data serta menbandingkan hasil belajar mahasiswa setelah dilakukan pengembangan model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dan sebelumnya. Mengambil kesimpulan dari hasil belajar siswa yg diperoleh dari tes hasil belajar setelah dikembangkannya model pembelajaran berbasis masalah pada saat pengajaran. Pengabdian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh kurangnya motivasi belajar matematika dan bahasa inggris anak-anak usia sekolah dasar di Sekolah SD Negeri 024868 Binjai Barat. Siswa mengalami kesulitan dalam pembelajaran mata pelajaran matematika dan bahasa inggris. Pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran kegiatan pembinaan pembelajaran matematika dan bahasa inggris bagi anak-anak usia sekolah dasar di Sekolah SD Negeri 024868. Pembinaan pembelajaran matematika dan bahasa inggris bagi anak-anak usia sekolah dasar di SD Negeri 024868 berisi yang sifatnya memberikan bantuan, nasihat, dorongan dan kesempatan bagi anak anak untuk termotivasi dalam belajar. Tahapan kegiatan pembinaan yang dilakukan yaitu: 1) Tahap Persiapan, 2) Tahap Pelaksanaan Pembinaan. Metode kegiatan pembinaan yang dilaksanakan yaitu: 1) Metode ceramah, 2) Metode tanya jawab, 3) Metode latihan atau praktik. Berdasarkan hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian disimpulkan bahwa: 1) Meningkatnya motivasi belajar siswa, 2) Meningkatnya kemampuan siswa dalam mencari hasil suatu perkalian matematika, 3) Meningkatnya kemampuan siswa dalam menyusun kalimat bahasa inggris.Mitra pengabdian ini adalah SD Negeri 024868 Binjai Barat.
