Management is a tool to improve quality of work and its relationship with the success of organisation therefore very fundamental. It begins with the power system, process of planning, prosedure and rules which can provide excellent contribution to the organization. This article will discuss some basic principle of management to improve the quality of work performance according to Islamic perspective. These fundamental principles include values such as insaniyyah (humanity), tawhīd (unity), shūra (consultation) and istiqamah (steadfastness) in every action. It emphasises on attaining spiritual success through deligence in work of excellence. It means to get the best quality of work through both spiritual and material satisfaction whether by the employer and also the employee. This paper also discusses other elements that contribute to improve quality of work in Islamic perspective in order to achieve organisational success such as al-niyyah (having purpose), amanah (integrity), time management, c adl (justice/balance) and ta c āwun (cooperation). Highly committed employee who combined all these elements will make great contribution to the organisation. Therefore, it is significant to stress the relevant relationship between all elements with quality of work within the Islamic perspective. Some elements which differentiates Islamic management with conventional management in general were also discussed in comparative manner to highlight the benefits of Islamic management to the overall well being of the employer and the employee as well as the organisation as a whole.
Dunia digemparkan dengan munculnya novel coronavirus atau dikenali secara ringkasnya Covid-19 pada akhir 2019 di Wuhan, Negara China. Hari demi hari, angka mereka yang disahkan menghidapi novel coronavirus meningkat. Ia telah merebak pantas ke seluruh dunia, bahkan melibatkan jutaan pesakit dan juga kematian. Dalam mendepani wabak tersebut, sesungguhnya ramai Muslim secara khususnya dan manusia secara amnya agak panik, keliru, gusar dan bimbang yang mana ia tentunya menggugat keharmonian diri dan masyarakat. Justeru, artikel ini cuba menerokai dan menyelidiki sifat sabar menurut Imam al-Ghazali dan kepentingan penghayatannya kepada umat Islam secara khususnya dalam menghadapi cabaran dan kesan Covid-19. Artikel ini menggunakan kaedah kajian kepustakaan dengan merujuk kepada buku, artikel jurnal, bab dalam buku, suratkhabar dan bahan-bahan yang berkaitan dengan tajuk. Hasil kajian mendapati bahawa sifat sabar yang diamalkan oleh Muslim terutama dalam mendepani cabaran dan ancaman Covid-19 mampu melahirkan sifat tenang, damai, kuat dan redha dengan pelbagai ujian yang melanda.
Modern society today suffers from various social problems such as child abuse, child rape, domestic violence, gangsterism, vandalism and many more. The emergence of these various social ills stems from the empty and dead soul of society. Thus, this study examines Islamic mysticism which is believed to be the best mechanism for society to treat such problems and diseases because mysticism provides certain methods based on the Qur'an and Sunnah. This qualitative study uses library research such as books, journal articles, newspapers and magazines to find information related to the topic. The results of the study found that Sufism is indeed a holistic mechanism in restoring today's society from various negative diseases and social problems.
Malay martial arts is often associated with the practice that contains elements of superstitions. This can be seen when religious authorities such as the Department of Islamic Development Malaysia or popularly known as (JAKIM) and Selangor Islamic Religious Department (JAIS) published guideline books for martial arts associations in Malaysia according to Islam. Therefore, there is a martial arts association in Malaysia, namely Persatuan Seni Silat Cekak Malaysia (PSSCM) have a clear vision of upholding the original Malay Silat, especially Malaysian martial arts, and clean from all superstitions which are not align with the Islamic faith. Therefore, the approach of this study is to identify the ideology of spiritual practices found in PSSCM that are free from superstitions and capable of educating morals and noble practices. This study uses a qualitative methodology based on content analysis and this study will analyze documents related to the ideology of spiritual practice in PSSCM. The study found that PSSCM has an ideology of spiritual practices that are aimed at educating the spiritual and the virtuous. This practice also does not conflict with the Islamic Shariᶜa. Therefore, PSSCM is not merely educating people to take care of themselves but also signaling them with good moral characters.
