BACKGROUND: Physical fitness depends on hematological parameters such as red blood cells and hemoglobin. Hemoglobin is needed in adequate quantities in trained athletes, especially in endurance sports. The effects of antioxidant supplementation are not yet fully known whether the body’s natural antioxidants that act as a defense system can overcome the increase in free radicals during physical exercise or whether additional supplements are needed. AIM: The purpose of this study was to find out the effect of physical activity and consumption of red dragon fruit on red blood cells and hemoglobin in trained people. METHODS: The subject of the study was 20 people, male, trained, divided into two groups randomly, each consisting of 10 people, namely, Group 1 (PA): A group that was given physical exercise and obtained a placebo; Group 2 (PA+RDF): A group was assigned physical activity and given red dragon fruit juice. Physical activity was performed in the form of treadmill exercises with an intensity of 80–85% of the maximum heart rate (MHR= 220 – age), frequency 3 times a week, duration 30 min, for 28 days. RESULTS: The results show that the increase in red blood cells and hemoglobin after intervention in PA+RDF group is higher than in the PA group, but based on statistic test, there is no significant difference to increase in red blood cells and hemoglobin between the two groups (p > 0.05). CONCLUSION: The physical activity and red dragon fruit can prevent the decrease of red blood cells and hemoglobin in trained people.
Agility is a very important component in sports activities. Almost every sport requires agility as a differentiator for everyone's physical skills. Various agility instruments have been created such as Side Step Test, Illinois Agility Run, Shuttle Run Test, Zig Zag Test, T-Test, Agility Cone Drill, Arrowhead Drill, 20 Yard Agility, Balsom Agility Test, and others (www.topendsport.com). Some of the agility test instruments above are instruments that have been tested and developed in various countries. The weakness in conventional side step test implementation with observations using the eyes is when the teste does no movement whether the feet have crossed the left side or the right side. The method used in this research is Research and Development Sources of data in this study were obtained from athletes in the form of treatment tests and measurement of agility side step tests based on motion sensors. Side step test is a form of agility test that aims to measure agility (where the sideways movement is changed in the opposite direction of motion). With the existence of the side step test based on the motion sensor based, it is expected to help facilitate the implementation of the test to be more effective and the results are more valid. In addition this side step test tool is also in accordance with advances in digital technology so that it is more relevant.
Small sided games is a game that played a smaller court and fewer players than the real game. The research aimed to know about effect of small sided games toward improvement of basic soccer techniques to perfect unimed soccer school student at the age 14 to 16 years old. The research is an experimental research. The design used in this research is design randomized control group pretest and posttest. Sample in this research are all the perfect unimed soccer school students age group 14 to 16 years old which amounts 48 students. The sampling techniques used in this research is total sampling. The data collection tehniques used test. The instrument used soccer skill test for soccer school from Ardi Nusri with a validity level of 0,700 for score and 0,775 for time, while reliabilty 0,915 for score and 0,882 for total time. Data analyse techniques used T test through prerequisite of normality test and homogenity test. Based on theoretical studies and research journal, small sided games training can improve basic techniques of perfect unimed soccer school student age 14 to 16 years old. It can be concluded that there is a siqnificant effect of small sided games toward the improvement of basic soccer tecniques to perfect unimed soccer school student age 14 to 16 years old.
Heavy physical exercise causes increased production of free radicals. The accumulation of oxidative stress can reduce cardiorespiratory endurance. VO2max plays a role as an indicator of the circumstances of cardiorespiratory. An increase in cholesterol levels is a risk factor for coronary heart disease. As a result, there is a decrease in fitness marked by a decrease in the value of VO2max. The purpose of this study was to determine whether the antioxidant supplement given during heavy physical exercise had a beneficial effect on decrease cholesterol and the increase of VO2max levels. The subjects were 30 students, male sex, 20-22 years old, divided into 3 groups randomly, each 10 people, group 1: subjects not given heavy physical exercise and only given a placebo (control); group 2: subjects given heavy physical exercise and placebo (HPE-RDF); group 3: subjects given heavy physical exercise and red dragon fruit juice (HPE+RDF). Measurement of cholesterol and VO2max levels in the pre-test and post-test. The results showed that there was an increase in VO2max and a decrease in cholesterol (p<0.05) in the HPE + RDF group compared to the HPE-RDF group. The Heavy exercise group given red dragon fruit juice can increase VO2max and reduce cholesterol levels.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
