Internet connection has become inseparable part in modern life because it can help people do their activities easier in many areas of work, including in education. Thus, many education practitioners and institutions create online learning to support their learning-teaching process. Online learning is also considered more practical to hold learning teaching activities because it does not need a classroom to run the activities. So, lecture and students can create a class from different place. However, online learning faces some problems in its application; student’s interaction and learning environment. Therefore, this study is intended to explore those problems based on students’ perception. Survey research with Likert scale technique was used to get the data by giving 100 students questioners. But, only 54 students returned the questioners. Based on the questioners that have been analyzed, researchers found that students face some problems to interact, not only with other students but also with lecturer. It is shown by high percentage of students’ disagreement to statements that declare students’ interaction in online class already support them in learning process. Likewise learning environment, students feel that learning environment in online learning less support them in learning teaching process. Thus, to help students develop their interaction and learning environment, lecturers can facilitate them by creating a group in social media to interact and boost learning environment atmosphere among class members. Background: Each user has their smartphone to do communication. The user tends to use social media to communicate each other. Now in pandemic of COVID 19, the teachers do mostly communication to the students and/or to the expatriate teacher are using English. Purpose: This study is aim to reveal on teacher perspective on what extent that the social media help them to enrich the English skills. Design and methods: This study is conducted by using narrative inquiry method. The narrative inquiry method aims to reveal certain topic referring to stories and/or experiences. There are 9 participants who works as teacher at international schools at Tangerang. The participants’ selection is using purposive sampling strategy as knowing the participants will give their stories to only their close friend. The data is validated by triangulation of data source technique. The triangulation of data source technique is done by crosschecking the data among participants’ responses. Results: This study revealed that social websites and the content of media give more impact to the improvement of English skills of the teachers. This research recommends to investigate a certain categories social media on specific skills and/or to investigate a certain platform in promoting the English learning process.
Belajar bagi peserta didik sekolah dasar membutuhkan banyak perhatian baik dari guru maupun orang tua. Setiap pemberian materi ajar dan penugasan tentunya membutuhkan umpan balik sehingga peserta didik mengetahui sejauh mana perkembang pembelajarannya. Tentunya peserta didik ingin tetap mendapati hal yang serupa baik sebelum pandemi maupun saat pandemi. Faktanya, saat pandemi terbentuk pembudayaan yang baru berupa penugasan yang dirasakan jauh lebih banyak dan membutuhkan peran orang tua untuk mengirimkan ke guru kelasnya. Penggunaan whatsapp sebagai media komunikasi dan sebagai media pengiriman berkas hasil pekerjaan peserta didik memang sudah cukup menjadi kebudayaan baru di SD Setia Bhakti. Namun, semakin bertambahnya jumlah penugasan, maka semakin bertambah pula dokumen yang harus diperiksa, dinilai dan diberikan umpan balik oleh guru. Sebagai tawaran solusi, guru harus memiliki suatu keterampilan mendokumentasikan pembelajarannya dengan baik. Melalui aplikasi yang telah ada di masyarakat, guru dan orang tua diajak untuk mendayagunakan aplikasi Google Form. Berdasarkan paparan di atas, maka program pengabdian masyarakat ini ditujukan untuk mendampingi pembelajaran daring dengan pendayagunaan google form. Program ini menghasilkan 77% guru mampu mengoptimalkan pembelajaran dengan mendayagunakan Google Form dengan aplikasi ini pendokumentasian dapat dilakukan secara mandiri oleh peserta didik melalui bantuan orang tua
Anak usia sekolah merupakan sasaran strategis dalam pelaksanaan program kesehatan. Selain jumlahnya yang besar, yaitu (25%) di antara jumlah penduduk, anak usia sekolah juga sasaran yang mudah dijangkau karena terorganisir dengan baik. Masalah kesehatan yang dialami anak usia sekolah sangat kompleks dan bervariasi. Permasalahan peserta didik di tingkat SD umumnya berhubungan dengan ketidakseimbangan gizi, kesehatan gigi, kelainan refraksi, kecacingan, dan penyakit menular yang terkait perilaku hidup bersih dan sehat. Program pengabdian kepada masyarakat masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan pengetahuan kepada guru dan orang tua murid terhadap buku rapor kesehatan atau rekam medis personal dan usaha kesehatan sekolah (UKS). Diharapkan dari kegiatan ini selain para guru dan orangtua dapat menambah wawasan, mengetahui tatacara pengisian buku rapor kesehatan sekolah dan program-program usaha kesehatan sekolah. Hasil akhir yang diharapkan adalah adanya peningkatan kesehatan dari para siswa/anak usia sekolah. Metode pendekatan yang digunakan untuk mencapai target luaran ditetapkan, yaitu pelatihan, bimbingan teknis, dan fasilitasi. Hasil pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah pemanfaatan kembali ruang UKS dan program kegiatan UKS beserta pemanfaatan buku rapor kesehatan sekolah untuk mencatat hasil pemeriksaan maupun riwayat sakit siswa.
This study aimed to find out whether or not the use of collaborative strategic reading (CSR) will be effective on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text. The study used a quantitative method with pre-experimental design. The instruments used in this study were pre-test and post-test and the subjects of this study were the tenth-grade students of MA Annida Al-Islamy. The data were analyzed by using the t-test. The results showed that the students mean score in pre-test was 64 while in post-test mean score was 78. The result of this study analysis obtained 8.439 to and 2.045 tt with significant of 5%. Thus, it can be said that the use of collaborative strategic reading (CSR) on students’ reading comprehension of narrative text was effective.
