Histone H1(0) is a linker histone subvariant present in tissues of low proliferation rate. It is supposed to participate in the expression and maintenance of the terminal differentiation phenotype. The aim of this work was to study histone H1(0) distribution in human breast carcinoma and its relationship with the processes of proliferation and differentiation. Most of the cells in carcinomas of moderate and high level of differentiation expressed histone H1(0) including cells invading connective and adipose tissues. In low differentiated tumours, the number of H1(0) expressing cells was considerably lower. Staining of myoepithelial cells, when seen, and of stromal fibroblasts was variable. The metastatic malignant cells in the lymph nodes also accumulated H1(0) but lymphocytes were always negative. All immunopositive malignant cells exhibited signs of polymorphism. Double H1(0)/Ki-67 staining showed that the growth fraction in more differentiated tumours belonged to the H1(0)-positive cells, while in poorly differentiated carcinomas it also included a cell subpopulation not expressing H1(0). If expressed, p27Kip1 was always found in H1(0)-positive cells. These findings are inconsistent with the widespread view that histone H1(0) is expressed only in terminally differentiated cells. Rather, they suggest that the protein is expressed in cells in a prolonged intermitotic period irrespective of their level of differentiation. Double H1(0)/Ki-67 immunostaining could be a useful tool in studying the growth fraction in tumours.
Aim of the study. Analysis of the dynamics of the alimentary-dependent prevalence in children from various age groups in the industrial center. Materials and methods. The study was conducted retrospectively according to official statistical reporting. The total and primary incidence in children and adolescents in the city of Angarsk was estimated for 6 years (2013-2018). Age-specific features of the incidence in children were analyzed over 3 years (2016-2018). Relative indices of the incidence were calculated (per 1000 population of the corresponding age), characteristics of the time series: the average annual absolute increment; the rate of average annual growth (decrease); linear regression models were built using the Excel software module. Results. An analysis of the primary morbidity of alimentary-dependent pathology in children of different ages showed that its structure is characterized by a predominance of diseases of the digestive, endocrine systems, and blood. Moreover, in young children, blood diseases are most pronounced. Assessment of the dynamics of alimentary-dependent diseases in children aged 0-14 and 15-17 years revealed multidirectional trends. In children aged 0-14 and 15-17 years, the presence of pronounced trends to a decrease in the incidence of the pathology of the digestive system was revealed. The differences are that pronounced trends in the increase in the incidence are observed in children aged 0-14 years - in the frequency of obesity, in children 15-17 years old - in the frequency of endemic goiter. Discussion. The obtained values of the regression analysis allow predicting an increase in the frequency of diseases of the thyroid gland associated with iodine deficiency in children aged 0-14 years, obesity - in 15-17 year adolescents. Differences in the frequency of these nosological forms depending on the age of the children can be presumably due to changes in eating behavior, the influence of heredity, and the adaptive capabilities of the body. The incidence rates of alimentary-dependent pathology depend on the quality of medical care and the geochemical characteristics of the territory of residence. Conclusion. The study revealed the age-related characteristics of alimentary-dependent pathology and concretized the directions for improving medical and preventive activities.
Introduction.The study of the elemental status of the population of individual regions of the Russian Federation with the purpose of scientific development and implementation of measures for elimination of revealed elementosis is a promising direction for preventive medicine.The aim of the studyis to study the elemental status of the adult able-bodied population of the Republic of Buryatia, which was part of the Siberian Federal district (SFD) until 2018.Materials and methods.The analysis was performed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) on the basis of the accredited laboratory of “Center of biotic medicine”. (Moscow; ISO 9001: 2008 certificate 54Q10077 from 21.05.2010). The content of chemical elements in the hair of 130 adults (102 women and 28 men) aged 25–50 years was studied. This indicator serves as an indicator in assessing the impact of the environment on the human body. Methods of nonparametric statistics were used for mathematical processing of the data.Results.For women living in the Republic of Buryatia, the maximum values of Zn, increased levels of Cu, Li, Si were revealed; for men — the maximum values of Mg, Cr, Si, increased levels of P, Li, Se, V, Pb. Minimum values were found for P, Fe, V. Elemental status indicates a significant degree of prevalence of essential trace element deficiencies and electrolyte imbalance. The obtained data can be used as reference values for the content of chemical elements in the hair of adults living in the Republic of Buryatia.Conclusions:Elemental analysis of the population of the Republic of Buryatia indicates imbalances among the adult working-age population.
For the first time, we have studied the influence of polyunsaturated fatty acids on cholesterol metabolizing activity of bifidobacteria. High levels of destruction of cholesterol in the process of cultivation of strain Bifidobacterium Longum DK 100 was noted. Based on the results, the technology of probiotic dietary supplements (DS), enriched with polyunsaturated fatty acids, has been developed. The paper reveals that the introduction of probiotic DS leads to a twofold reduction in total cholesterol in the experimental groups in comparison with the control one, which indicates high effectiveness of DS. It has been observed that against the background of the atherogenic diet, the employment of probiotic DS is accompanied by a significant reduction in triglyceride levels by 37% and 45% in the "linen" and "cedar" groups, respectively, compared to the control group of animals. It has been established that in the blood serum of animals of experimental groups, the level of high-density lipoproteins increases by 45% in "linen" and 40% in "cedar" groups, while low-density lipoproteins decreased by 19% and 23% respectively. With the introduction of probiotic DS with linseed oil, the atherogenic index decreases by 83%, and with the cedar one by 86%. The results confirm the hypocholesterinemic effect of DS during cholesterol loading.
