Elemental hair profile of the population is adequate hygienic indicator reflecting the impact of climatic and geographical, biogeochemical and ecological characteristics of the area on human. This indicator is also a tool for monitoring the population's health through detection and elimination the elementosis which is typical for the territory. The purpose of this study was to carry out a study of element status of adult population of the Republic of Tatarstan not employed in the manufacturing sector in the framework of the Federal Target Program "National System of chemical and biological security of the Russian Federation. It was analised elemental composition of hair 2,127 adult residents (1,667 women and 460 men aged 25-50 years) of the Republic of Tatarstan in the period 2004 and 2010 to perform the tasks. ICP-AES and ICP-MS methods was used. Mathematical processing of data was carried out using methods of nonparametric statistics. In general, the evaluation of the element status of population of the Republic of Tatarstan showed that the situation with the adult residents is sufficient, although the male part of the population deficits are relatively frequent. Attracts attention common for both men and women accumulation of aluminum, silicon and calcium in hair. The positive facts necessary to carry a small risk hipoelementosis frequency in women.
Introduction. The purpose of this study was to study and assess the elemental status of residents of the Kirov region as a part of the Volga Region Federal District (VFD). Material and methods. The content of elements in the hair of 295 men and women (73 and 222, respectively, 25-50 years old) and 120 boys and girls (46 and 74, respectively, 3-15 years old) were studied using massspectrometry with inductively coupled plasma. This indicator serves an index in assessing the impact of environment on human organism. Methods of non-parametric statistics were used for the mathematical simulation of our data. Results. It was found that women, girls and boys compared with other regions of the VFD are characterized by a relative increase in the absolute content (median) in the hair of Mg, Fe, V. For people living in the territory of the Kirov region a relative increase in the Si level in the hair is characterized with exception of boys. The relatively reduced level of Cu (with the exception of women) and Se (with the exception of men) also make oneself conspicuous. Discussion of the results. The main problems associated with a decrease in the content of Cu and Se compounds, as well as an increase in the content of Si, Mg, Fe and V, most likely have a geochemical nature and, in particular, are associated with the chemical composition of drinking water. The hair of children in a greater degree than in adults is shown to be a biological substrate, the elemental composition of which indicates to ecological and social factors, the quality of products and the development of the health care system. Conclusions. The obtained data can be recommended for the use as reference values in assessing the level of chemical compounds in the hair of adults and children living in the territory of the Kirov region.
Introduction. The study of the elemental status of the population of individual regions of the Russian Federation with the purpose of scientific development and implementation of measures for elimination of revealed elementosis is a promising direction for preventive medicine. The aim of the studyis to study the elemental status of the adult able-bodied population of the Republic of Buryatia, which was part of the Siberian Federal district (SFD) until 2018.Materials and methods. The analysis was performed by inductively coupled plasma mass spectrometry (ICP-MS) on the basis of the accredited laboratory of “Center of biotic medicine”. (Moscow; ISO 9001: 2008 certificate 54Q10077 from 21.05.2010). The content of chemical elements in the hair of 130 adults (102 women and 28 men) aged 25–50 years was studied. This indicator serves as an indicator in assessing the impact of the environment on the human body. Methods of nonparametric statistics were used for mathematical processing of the data.Results.For women living in the Republic of Buryatia, the maximum values of Zn, increased levels of Cu, Li, Si were revealed; for men — the maximum values of Mg, Cr, Si, increased levels of P, Li, Se, V, Pb. Minimum values were found for P, Fe, V. Elemental status indicates a significant degree of prevalence of essential trace element deficiencies and electrolyte imbalance. The obtained data can be used as reference values for the content of chemical elements in the hair of adults living in the Republic of Buryatia. Conclusions:Elemental analysis of the population of the Republic of Buryatia indicates imbalances among the adult working-age population.
