Superovulation is an effort to increase the degree of ovulation by injection of gonadotropin hormones in the body of a female animal. In general, animal donors were injected with preparations of follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) and Pregnant mare's serum gonadotropin (PMSG) or a combination (Pregnant mare's serum gonadotropin) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The objective of this research was to determine the extent of achievement farrow dara (prospective parent) using pregnant mare's serum hormone gonadropin (PMSG) and human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). The research using completely randomized design (CRD) consisting of two treatments (using and without using PMSG and hCG hormone) with 21 replications each. All data were analyzed with analysis of variance (ANOVA) Steel and Torrie (1993). Variables was observed for litter size, birth weight piglets born and piglets born mortality until weaning. The results showed that the number of piglets born alive in the birth there is a very real difference that is born of a parent superovulation compared with the parent who does not to superovulated on average 9.19–6.66 tail. And also the average birth weight 1:53 to 1:40 kilograms likewise the average child mortality 14.36–29.19%. From the results of the study concluded that the use of PMSG and hCG hormone can improve birth litter size, birth weight and reduce the percentage of mortality of pigs. Keywords: Extent of achievement of gilt,PMSG dan hCG hormone, and Pregnant mare.
CARCASS PERFORMANCE OF BROILER FED RATION CONTAINING COFFEE (Coffea sp) HUSK WASTE PRODUCT TREATED BY SIMPLE PROCESSING AND SUBSTITUTING PARTS OF CORN WITH DIFFERENT LEVELS. Broilers had rapid growth rate and need high nutrient protein and energy balance in the diet. This study was conducted to evaluate the use of coffee husk waste product treated by simple processing substituted with part of corn in ration on carcass percentage of broiler. Study was applied at Faculty of Animal Science, Sam Ratulangi University during 35 days. Total of 144 day old chick unsexed broilers, strain of CP 707, involving 36 experimental units of battery pens were used in this study. Each unit of pen was filled 4 birds under completely randomized design on factorial patter of 3x4. Factor A was focused on three processing treatments including coffee husk heated under sun light (A1), coffee husk immersed in the water (A2), and coffee husk boiled under water (A3). Factor B was focused on four treatments of substitution levels including ration containing corn without coffee husk substitution (B0), ration containing corn substituted with 25% coffee husk (B1), ration containing corn substituted with 50% coffee husk (B2), ration containing corn substituted with 75% coffee husk (B3). Variables observed were including percentages of thigh, wing, breast and back part. Analysis of variance showed that interaction of processing treatments did not affect significantly on the percentages of thigh, wing, breast and back part. This study indicated that simple processing of coffee husk were not affected the carcass percentages of broiler. The substitution levels significantly affected carcass percentage of broiler. Percentages of thigh, wing, breast and back part were 28.92%-30.98%, 10.38%-12.68%, 35.10%-38.55% and 19,68%-22,71%, respectively. This study showed that utilization of coffee husk waste product by above simple processing could substitute part of corn in ration of 25% producing high carcass percentage of broiler. Keywords: Coffee husk by product, broiler part of carcass percentage
GROWER PRODUCTION PERFORMANCE USE FLOUR COFFEE PULP AS SUBSTITUTION MATERIALS TO A PARTS OF FINE BRAN ON FEED. Various feed ingredients or waste that have not been utilized for example the skin of coffee fruit can be an alternative feed ingredient source of crude fiber see its content in the skin of the fruit coffee is 33.60%. North Sulawesi, especially Bolaang Mogondow, which is a center of coffee plantation, has a plantation area of 4,097.7 ha, with coffee production reaching 2,135.46 tons of raw material which has not been separated between coffee fruit with its leaves and stems. After the separated coffee fruit obtained as much as 1,288.22 tons per year. Coffee fruit is processed to separate between the seeds and skin after separated obtained by the skin of coffee fruit as much as 448,449 tons. The appearance of production by looking at weight gain, the amount of consumption and the efficiency of feed use is part of the requirement to see the production capability of pigs. The study was conducted for 66 days consisting of 52 days of data collection period and 2 weeks preliminary collecting data aims to determine the effect of coffee skin use as a substitute of some fine bran on the production performance of the grower pigs to the finisher. The study used 16 male and female pigs grower period aged 12-16 weeks descent kinds Yorkshire and Landrace. Randomized block design with four levels of treatment that is 0, 25%, 50%, 75% coffee pulp as a partial replacement of fine bran in 4 groups. Differences in body weight is a replication of the study. The result of analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the powder of coffee husk as substitute of bran to the weight gain gave real effect (P <0.05), the amount of feed consumption did not give real effect (P> 0.05) Feed gave a real effect. The result is the use of coffee leaf powder as a substitute of some fine bran in grower pigs until finisher can provide good growth and efficient use of good feed. Keywords: Phase grower, finisher, flour coffee skin
Weight gain, feed consumption and the efficiency of growing pigs to slaughter with palm sugar in drinking water. The production performances by looking at weight gain, consumption and feed efficiency is part of the requirements to see pig production capabilities. The study lasted 10 weeks consisting of 8-week data collection period and 2 weeks of data collecting preliminary aims to determine the effect of the use of palm sugar in the drinking water to the performances of grower to finisher productivities of pigs. The study used 16 mix male and female pigs period grower 12-14 week-old offspring of type cross-bred Yorkshire and Landrace. The experimental design used in this research was Block Randomized Experimental Design with four levels of treatment as follows 0, 2%, 4%, 6% palm sugar in drinking water in four different weight groups as replication. The analysis of variance (ANOVA) showed that the use of palm sugar in drinking water on weight gain (0,57- 0,65 kg) significantly effect (P <0.05), while the amount of consumption (2,56- 2,64 kg) and feed efficiency (0,22-0,25) were not significantly different (P> 0.05), however the amount of water consumption drink (6,57-8,91 litre) indicates the effect of significantly (P <0.05). The use of palm sugar in drinking water in pigs grower phase until finisher can deliver good growth despite the amount of consumption and the efficiency of feed use remains the same.
