In this paper, a transverse-flux linear switched reluctance motor (TFLSRM) based traction system for semi magnetic suspending urban rail transit vehicle, is proposed. An analysis over the TFLSRM structure and operation principle is presented. The mathematical model of the thrust and normal forces is defined, and determined to be suitable for equal or unequal pole width of stator and rotor. Based on the known direct torque control principles for switched reluctance motors, a control method is proposed to simultaneously control the TFLSRM traction and normal forces. The effectiveness of the developed control method is verified by means of simulations.
scite is a Brooklyn-based organization that helps researchers better discover and understand research articles through Smart Citations–citations that display the context of the citation and describe whether the article provides supporting or contrasting evidence. scite is used by students and researchers from around the world and is funded in part by the National Science Foundation and the National Institute on Drug Abuse of the National Institutes of Health.
