Purpose: Tourism communities will be heavily affected by climate change.However, our understanding of how corporate social responsibility (CSR) of tourism businesses plays a role in building community adaptive capacity to climate change remains limited. This research aims to develop a framework to allow a better understanding of how CSR practices can enhance tourism community adaptive capacity to climate change.
Design/methodology/approach: This research takes a qualitative approach usingBali as a case study. In-depth interviews and focus group discussions with tourism stakeholders in Bali were used for data collection. Purposive random sampling was used as sampling technique.
Findings:This study provides evidences that CSR of tourism industry can help in building community adaptive capacity to climate change both for the individuals living in a community and for the community leader to lead collective actions. The framework formulated in this research shows that government support and collaboration with tourism stakeholder are needed in harnessing CSR initiatives at the destination level for a greater positive impact for the local community.
Research limitation/implication:The findings cannot be assumed as representative of all tourism businesses in Bali. This model should be tested in other tourism destinations. Practical implication: The empirical data presented in this research are relevant for policy makers in designing future policy or regulation on climate change.Originality/value: Community and NGOs were involved in this research to enrich the data and give a balanced perspective on this subject matter.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menguji pengaruh reward dan punishment terhadap motivasi kerja baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Adapun subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah karyawan yang bekerja di CV Ayudya Tabanan Bali, sedangkan objek dalam penelitian ini adalah reward, punishment, dan motivasi kerja. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh karyawan CV Ayudya Tabanan Bali yang berjumlah 31 orang. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif. Teknik pengumpulan data pada penelitian ini yaitu menggunakan kuesioner. Selanjutnya, data dianalisis menggunakan analisis regresi linear berganda. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa ada pengaruh positif dan signifikan dari reward dan punishment terhadap motivasi kerja baik secara parsial maupun simultan. Penelitian ini juga menunjukkan bahwa kontribusi dari reward dan punishment terhadap motivasi kerja sebesar 54,2%, sisanya sebesar 45,8% dijelaskan oleh variabel lain diluar penelitian ini. Abstrak Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh sistem penghargaan (reward) terhadap kinerja trainee di Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. Objek penelitian adalah Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. Populasi penelitian ini adalah trainee disemua departement dan sampel penelitian adalah tiga puluh orang trainee dari semua departement di Hotel Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. Penelitian ini menggunakan teknik deskriptif kuantitatif yang di dapatkan dengan kuesioner dengan skala likert diolah menggunakan sistem spss, kemudian hasil yang didapatkan dari mengolah data akan di deskripsikan dengan sistematis. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa adanya pengaruh yang siginifikan sistem penghargaan (reward) terhadap kinerja trainee. Hal ini dapat dilihat dimana trainee yang diberikan apresisasi atau reward menunjukkan kinerja yang lebih baik dari pada trainee yang tidak diberikan penghargaan (reward). Jadi dapat disimpulkan bahwa sistem pemberian reward kepada trainee memiliki efek yang positif terhadap kinerja trainee. The object of this study was Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. The population of this study was the all trainee of department and sample of this study was thirty of trainee in Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. This study uses descriptive quantitative techniques obtained by questionnaire with likert scale will then be processed using spss system, then the results obtained from the data processing described systematically. It was found that there is a significant effect of of reward system towards trainee’s performance in Holiday Inn Resort Baruna Bali. It can be seen that the performance of trainee who given any reward was increased. So it can be concluded that reward system has a positive effect towards trainee’s performance.
