This research aimed at describing the violations of cooperative principles and the factors that created humor of Cucuk Lampah in the wedding ceremony in Magetan regency. This was descriptive qualitative research. The subjects of this research were all humor discourse conducted by Cucuk Lampah. Meanwhile, the objects were the data that contained the violation of the cooperative principle. The data collection used observation method with the tapping technique, then SBLC or Free Participant Observation technique, note-taking technique, and video recording technique. It used a pragmatic identity method based on utterances by heuristic technique to analyze data. The result shows that in creating humor, Cucuk Lampahmostly violates quantity maxim. It means that Cucuk Lampah prefers less and more information or contribution to the interaction. Cucuk Lampah is free to lie, using taboo, speaking indirectly with pambiwara, and singers. Cucuk Lampah also uses language play by mentioning the unexpected in the utterances to build up taboo words. The violations of the quality maxim, relevance maxim, and manner maxim are also done in less number compare to quantity maxim violations. The nonobservance of the maxims mostly is violating a maxim, flouting a maxim, infringing a maxim, suspending a maxim, and the last is opting out of a maxim
The study of syntax and semantic in Madurese have direct relevance to the syntactic analysis of Madurese, so that the classifications can be done more complete and related to the form and meaning. According to the term, this research is a qualitative descriptive research that aims to describe the distribution and meaning of the use of conjunction "ban". The method used to provide data was observation method by used tapping technique as the basic technique and observation method with uninvolved conversation observation technique as the advanced technique. The data were taken from the narrative texts in Madurese of Primary and Junior High School textbooks. The writers used syntax and semantic approach to analyze the data by applying the main theory of conjunction "dan" from Gianto (1983). The data were analyzed by distributional method and identity technique as the basic technique. In addition, the advanced techniques were alternating, replacing, and deletion technique. The result shows that the characteristics of syntax used in the story texts are, has a fixed position, has two or more constituents, and bound with the conjunctures such as word, phrase, and clause. In the semantic used, conjunction "ban" has combined meanings such as original, evaluative, amplicative, parafrastive, sequential, contrastive, parallel, consequential, result-yield, leniency, and cause-effect. Besides that, the use of conjunction "ban" has unique patterns that the meaning can change into "by", "with", and "than" which are affected by bahasa Madura structure itself. AbstrakKajian sintaksis dan semantik dalam bahasa Madura memiliki relevansi langsung dengan analisis sintaksis bahasa Madura sehingga klasifikasi yang dilakukan dapat lebih lengkap serta terkait dengan bentuk dan makna. Berdasarkan hal tersebut, penelitian ini merupakan penelitian deskriptif kualitatif yang bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan distribusi dan makna dari penggunaan konjungsi ban. Metode yang digunakan untuk menyediakan data adalah metode simak dengan teknik dasar sadap dan teknik lanjutan simak bebas libat cakap (SBLC). Data diperoleh dari teks cerita yang berada dalam buku muatan lokal Bahasa Madura tingkat SD dan SMP. Peneliti menggunakan pendekatan sintaksis dan semantis untuk menganalisis data dengan menerapkan teori inti mengenai distribusi konjungsi dan dari Gianto (1983). Data dianalisis menggunakan metode agih dengan teknik dasar Bagi Unsur Langsung (BUL) dan teknik lanjutan balik, ganti, dan lesap. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa karakteristik sintaksis konjungsi ban dalam teks cerita memiliki posisi tetap, berkonjungta dua atau lebih, serta terikat dengan konjungta-konjungta seperti kata, frasa, dan klausa. Dalam maknanya, konjungsi ban memiliki makna gabungan murni, evaluatif, amplikatif, parafrastif, sekuensial, kontrastif, paralel, syarat-akibat, sarana-hasil, kelonggaran-hasil, dan alasan-akibat. Cucuk Lampah is leader of procession called kirab pengantin that moves towards stage (pelaminan) in wedding ceremonial Javanese tradition. Cucuk Lampah in Magetan has an ability to do humor by developing certain topics and uses pragmatic aspect which can not be separated from violating politeness principle. This study is purposed to identify interpersonal meaning in creating humor Cucuk Lampah in wedding ceremonial in Magetan. The researcher uses pragmatic approach. The data of this research is oral data delivered by Cucuk Lampah. The collected data uses simak method. It uses pragmatic method based on utterances by heuristic technique to analyze data. The result shows that in creating humor, Cucuk Lampah uses violating politeness principle to build up setup and punch. Based on 44 data of Cucuk Lampah utterances, the percentages are: Tact maxim 37%, Generosity maxim 9%, Approbation maxim 23%, Modesty maxim 2%, Agreement maxim 27%, and Sympathy maxim 2%.
