Manado as one region which dwelt by moslem society the few has a lot of constraint deeping to develop and carries on religions life, one of it namely activity missionizes, it is caused because attitude streotype (bad think) people non moslem (majority) to moslem is still so strength. To muffle it skilled workers missionizes in each its mission activity tries to dig up local wisdom points that interconnection with prinisip in Islamic teaching that tassammuh (lenient), amongst those is local terminology “ Torang Samua Basudara ” (We all are brothers). This article utilize teoritik Koentjaraningrat's perspective about formula tripatri culture, where is local wisdom as elemental as social cohesion lasing in multicultural's society. Untuk meredamnya para juru dakwah dalam setiap aktivitas dakwahnya coba menggali nilai-nilai kearifan lokal yang diinterkoneksikan dengan prinisip dalam ajaran Islam yang tassammuh (toleran), diantaranya adalah istilah lokal “Torang Samua Basudara” (Kita semua bersaudara).Artikel ini menggunakan perspektif teoritik Koentjaraningrat tentang rumusan tripatri kebudayaan, dimana kearifan lokal sebagai unsur penguat kohesi sosial dalam masyarakat multikultural. Penulis coba mengangkat tema ini karena di banyak tempat dakwah sering digunakan sebagai media untuk menyerang dan mendiskreditkan kelompok yang berseberangan paham atau kepentingan dengan kelompok yang lain. para juru dakwah kemudian menjadi aktor pemicu terjadinya konflik. Dalam penelitian, penulis menemukan bahwa manajemen dakwah berbasis kearifan lokal ini punya kontribusi yang sangat signifikan dalam mewujudkan kehidupan yang damai dan rukun di kota Manado. Manajemen dakwah berbasis kearifan lokal ini harusnya terus dikembangkan sebagai sebuah strategi yang tujuannya membangun hubungan harmonis antar agama di daerah. This article discussed about the experience of al-Qodir Boarding School in Sleman Yogyakarta in the effort to counter the radicalism through the approach of peace building. Applying qualitative approach, this research using the methods of observation and deep interview in collecting data. With the theoritical framework of cognitive peace building, three factors of peace building became the focus; the mechanism of internal group, among group and external group. The main research finding here was the essential role of kiai in building participative dialogue with the community out of the boarding school which was implemented through social actions. It resulted in the ability of al-Qodir Boarding School in formulating the strategy of radicalism counter which became a typical strategy of pesantren among so many strategies to find out new formulations in avoiding the movement of radicalism in Indonesia. *** Tulisan ini akan membahas tentang pengalaman Pondok Pesantren Al-Qodir terhadap upaya counter-radikalisme melalui pendekatan bina-damai di Sleman Yogyakarta. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kualitatif dengan melakukan pengamatan serta wawancara mendalam. Kerangka teoritik yang digunakan peneliti adalah teori peace building. Perdamaian menurut teori ini bisa tercipta karena tiga faktor; mekanisme internal, antar kelompok dan eksternal. Temuan dari riset ini adalah adanya peran penting kiai dalam membangun dialog partisipatif dengan masyarakat luar pesantren yang terimplementasi melalui aksi-aksi sosial. Hasilnya Pesantren Al-Qadir mampu merumuskan strategi counter-radikalisme yang khas pesantren ditengah upaya banyak pihak mencari formulasi baru dalam menangkal gerakan radikalisme di Indonesia.
Abstract. This paper offers “Religous Studies” approach as an alternative in religious education within universities in Indonesia that emphasized discussing religions from the various perspective of social sciences. Goals of this approach are preparing students to have more diverse knowledge on religions not limited on his or her own belief, encouraging dialogue between people of different religious beliefs, sharing spiritual experiences and engaging in religious pluralism. This approach is applied in a class that is attended by students whatever religious affiliations. Instead of applying religious education term of the government (Ministry of research, technology and Higher Education) which is insisting religious education in particularistic method, religious studies approach is more relevant prior to current Indonesia’s social and political situation. This paper argues that students need to be introduced into more inclusive views and attitudes in their religious life. Keywords: Religious Studies, Education, PluralismAbstrak. Artikel ini membahas sebuah alternatif dari salah satu mata kuliah pendidikan karakter yang wajib diambil oleh mahasiswa di Perguruan Tinggi yang berada di bawah naungan Kementerian Riset, Teknologi dan Pendidikan Tinggi (Kemenristek Dikti), yaitu Pendidikan Agama. Melalui metode penelitian tindakan (action research), penulis mengaplikasikan pengajaran Pendidikan Agama dalam bentuk pendekatan Kajian Agama (Religious Studies). Sementara, kurikulum yang disusun oleh Kemenristek Dikti menganjurkan agar Pendidikan Agama dijalankan secara partikularistik, yaitu mengajarkan agama sesuai dengan agama yang dianut oleh mahasiswa sesuai dengan Undang-Undang mengenai Pendidikan Nasional. Pendekatan kajian agama menggabungkan mahasiswa dari berbagai latar belakang agama dan mempelajari agama (agama-agama) secara umum dalam satu kelas dengan tujuan membuka wawasan tentang keagamaan di luar agama yang dianut, berbagi pengalaman spiritual dan pemahaman konsepsi nilai universal agama, serta mendapatkan keterampilan dialog lintas iman (interfaith dialogue). Hasil dari aplikasi pendekatan ini tercermin dari refleksi para mahasiswa yang banyak mengalami transformasi ke arah pemahaman agama yang lebih inkusif.Kata Kunci: Kajian Agama, Toleransi, Pluralisme
