The motivation behind this investigation was to find out the relationship between competence and communication skills of human resources professionals and employee satisfaction, as mediating variables, to improve employee performance. This study also aimed to examine the direct relationship between competence and communication skills of human resources professionals and employee performance. For data collection, a questionnaire was sent to 60 employees from the level of Section Head to Senior Manager or those directly involved in the production process and other supporting functions. The result of this study showed that the competence level of human resources professionals did not have any significant relation with employee satisfaction and employee performance. In contrast, the communication skills of human resources professionals had a significant impact on employee satisfaction and indirect correlation with employee performance; employee performance increases if employee satisfaction increases. Consequently, to be able to increase employee satisfaction, HR professionals must improve their communication skills
"Harry Potter" and Moral Value Learning is a qualitative study of the response of students aged 11-13 at an international Christian school in Bekasi, Indonesia, towards the phenomenal J.K Rowling text. Through the hermeneutic method, this research tried to seek the influence of Harry Potter texts, which are suspected of bringing adverse effects for their young readers. Besides, this research offers rational considerations to the authority in schools, especially regarding matters related to book censorship. Three things investigated in this study were the ability of students to think critically in making a distinction between fiction and facts in the Harry Potter text, the influence of the Harry Potter text on students' tendencies of violence and occultism, and finally about student learning of moral values contained in the text. The data was collected through in-depth interviews with two male respondents and three female respondents aged 11-13 years with a high religious background, mediocre, and less significant religious background. It was found that all respondents were able to distinguish between fiction and facts in the Harry Potter texts, and there was no significant evidence that the texts influenced respondents' tendency for violence nor respondents' interest in occultism. This study also found that respondents were able to identify the moral values contained in the text.
This study investigated the influence of academic supervision by the principal in improving the professionalism of TK Negeri Pembina North Indralaya teachers. The administrators and instructors provided data for this study. Data collecting methods include 1) interviews, 2) observation, and 3) documentation. Techniques for analyzing data include 1) data reduction; 2) data display; and 3) conclusion. The results obtained indicate that principals serve as educators, managers, administrators, supervisors, leaders, innovators, and motivators in increasing the professionalism of North Indralaya State Kindergarten teachers. This study is still in its early stages since it attempts to examine in depth the growth of teacher professionalism connected with the principal's academic supervision. This study contributes to school principals, who will increase teacher professionalism by expanding the role of academic monitoring.
Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui tentang pengaruh model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode quasi experiment dengan populasi terjangkau siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 2 Tambun Selatan tahun ajaran 2017/2018. Besar sampel sebanyak 80 siswa yang terdiri dari 40 siswa sebagai kelas eksperimen yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching dan 40 siswa sebagai kelas kontrol yang diajarkan dengan menggunakan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing, dengan teknik pengambilan sampel menggunakan teknik simple random sampling. Instrumen yang digunakan untuk pengumpulan data penelitian berupa tes berbentuk esai pemahaman konsep matematika sebanyak 10 soal yang bersifat valid. Pengujian persyaratan analisis data terdiri dari uji normalitas dengan uji Chi-Kuadrat dan uji homogenitas dengan uji Fisher. Hasil kedua data tersebut menunjukkan data normal dan homogen. Untuk pengujian hipotesis menggunakan uji-t, simpulan yang diperoleh bahwa pemahaman konsep matematika siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching lebih tinggi daripada siswa yang diajarkan dengan model pembelajaran Snowball Throwing. Dengan kata lain, terdapat pengaruh signifikan model pembelajaran Quantum Teaching terhadap pemahaman konsep matematika siswa.
