The internal nature of the educational process, first of all, considers the potential capabilities and motivational basis of the individual. The article focuses on the need for the use of active forms and methods of teaching in the conditions of digitalization of education. The process of digitalization affects not only changes in the requirements for learning outcomes, but also changes the educational process itself. What is this change – positive or negative, developing or standardizing, how universal and intense is it? The strength, effectiveness, form of influence, the predominance of certain functions performed by these means in higher education are determined and conditioned by the scientific and methodological guidance and management of the educational process.
The article discusses the author's course of the discipline "Imageology in the practical activity of a teacher" on the topic "Creating a professional image" for teaching students of the humanities at a university. "Imageology in the practical activity of a teacher" on the topic "Creating a professional image". The author's course is aimed at forming a professional image of a teacher, developing a sense of inner self-confidence, his appearance, creating a favorable atmosphere in the team, forming a positive attitude towards himself on the part of students, parents (legal representatives), students and the pedagogical community. It is based on: the theory of image, the theory of motivation, the theory of leadership, the theory of "I-concept", the competence approach in teaching, as well as the ideas of the founders of educational schools in Russia about the personality and the importance of professional development of a teacher. The results of the implementation of the author's course in the educational process of the university are presented. The study involved 73 students of the K.G. Razumovsky Moscow State Technical University, second, third and fourth year, training areas 38.03.03 "Personnel Management", 44.03.02 "Psychological and pedagogical education". To analyze the level of knowledge of the subjects, we have developed a test that includes 23 questions on the topic "Creating a professional image". The experimental group and control groups took part in the testing. To assess the level of formation of the professional image of a teacher, Pearson's Chi-square was chosen to assess the differences between two independent samples by the level of any attribute.

The proposed criteria for modeling digitalization are focused on activating the innovative and creative potential of students, scientific and project activity of the teaching staff, as well as on improving professional level of training of personnel and employees of the university, including contributing to personal development and improving labor efficiency. These criteria allow the university brand to take a stable position in a competitive environment and expand the target audience. The introduction of a digital information and communication environment makes the economic development of the university stable, and, as a result, expands the options for partnerships, large-scale scientific and educational projects that give the right to enter the modern socio-cultural space of the country and the world.
