Introduction: There is poor penetration of evidence-based maternal health care provided under national health programs in resource-poor underserved regions. A well-planned locally acceptable community-driven comprehensive health promotion strategy and quality health care delivery mechanism is necessary to improve the situation. Objective: The main objective was to find the gaps in the existing system and promote health literacy and health-seeking behavior. Methodology: 80,000 tribal population living in isolated conflict zone of Bastar district was covered for 5 years between 2012 and 2017. An integrated health-care plan was developed with community leaders, panchayat, and the local government to promote and provide quality evidence-based maternal health care. Available resources were mobilized and health technologies introduced. Results: Regular home visits, point of care diagnostics, identification of high-risk mothers and their timely referral, and behavioral change communication increased the trust of the community. It resulted in higher demand for evidence-based health interventions. The adolescent pregnancy rate (<19 years) reduced to 6.8% (2016) from 13.5% (2012). Hemoglobin level >9 g% (third trimester) improved. Supervised births and high-risk referrals increased from 19.5% (2014) to 58% (2017) and 8.5% (2014) to 13.1% (2017), respectively. Although significant improvement was noted, key indicators continued to remain below rural Bastar (National Family Health Survey-4). Conclusion: Promotion of existing good practices, behavior change, health technologies, and evidence-based emergency care improved the maternal health status of the secluded and underserved tribal community, but persistent effort is needed to enable women access the quality maternal health services provided under National Health Mission.
Cryopreservation is the most prevalent method of long‐term cell preservation. Effective cell cryopreservation depends on freezing, adequate storage, and correct thawing techniques. Recent advances in cryopreservation techniques minimize the cellular damage which occurs while processing samples. This article focuses on the fundamentals of cryopreservation techniques and how they can be implemented in a variety of clinical settings. The article presents a brief description of each of the standard cryopreservation procedures, such as slow freezing and vitrification. Alongside that, the membrane permeating and nonpermeating cryoprotectants are briefly discussed, along with current advancements in the field of cryopreservation and variables influencing the cryopreservation process. The diminution of cryoinjury incurred by the cell via the resuscitation process will also be highlighted. In the end application of cryopreservation techniques in many fields, with a special emphasis on stem cell preservation techniques and current advancements presented. Furthermore, the challenges while implementing cryopreservation and the futuristic scope of the fields are illustrated herein. The content of this review sheds light on various ways to enhance the output of the cell preservation process and minimize cryoinjury while improving cell revival.
Purpose: The objective of present study is to develop site-specific drug delivery system for controlled release of levofloxacin for eradication of H. pylori for the treatment of peptic ulcer. Methodology: Floating microspheres of Levofloxacin were prepared by solvent evaporation method. The drug was encapsulated with Eudragit and Ethyl cellulose in various combinations of polymers ratios. Findings: The prepared microspheres are subjected to evaluation for particle size, % buoyancy, in-vitro release study and stability studies. The percentage buoyancy was found to be in the range of 67.12% to 94.21%. The good buoyancy behaviour of the microspheres revealed that the microspheres are hollow in nature and retained for more than 12 hr in the upper part of the GIT in order to enhance gastric residence time. Research Implications: The prepared formulations can be tested clinically to assure the in vivo performance. Value of paper: The current study compared the combination of polymers and revealed their effect on drug release and various other parameters for the preparation of floating microspheres.
A program which helps in making conversation with the help of textual methods is referred to as chatbot. Chatbot helps in responding to a message quickly and that too without human intervention. Startups are inventing thousands of chatbots in order to provide a better service and keep their customers busy by a kind and simple conversation. It also helps in providing far better services to customers and helps in buying products. It takes an input from the user in the form of keywords, and it matches those keywords in its data-set to give out the corresponding output saved in it. It gives all the possible answers related to user queries. Since, most of the times like during pandemic, we cannot go outside and cannot meet people, it is an interactive way to get to know about how world is dealing with it. Chatbots exploits AI and ML platforms. Chatbots are becoming popular day by day in this modern era, they are being used in business groups and helps in reducing costs and can help in providing one to many communications that means it can handle multiple customers at same time. Chatbots need to be as efficient as possible.
