This research aimed to understand response of growth and rice productivity to the utilization of superior rice varieties and the application of biosilica fertilizer on rainfed land at different planting season. The study employed split plot design with three superior varieties of rice as main plot treatment and biosilica application as sub-plot. The growth and rice productivity were observed during dry season and rainy season. The utilization of superior rice varieties was only affected on number of total grains, 1000 grains weight and productivity at dry season meanwhile it affected the variables observed at rainy season. Application of biosilica fertilizer did not affect plant height, number of empty and total grains at dry season meanwhile it affected the variables observed at rainy season. Rice productivities were significantly different in both factors. Result showed that most of variables values obtained with biosilica application were higher. Biosilica fertilizer was able to increase productivity up to 1.08 tons/ha from 6.48 tons/ha to 7.56 tons/ha at dry season and up to 1.92 tons/ha from 8.7 tons/ha to 10.62 ton/ha at rainy season. This result indicated that utilization of superior rice varieties and biosilica fertilizer is recommended to increase rice productivity on rainfed land.

Performance of Irrigated Rice Varieties and Incresing t of Income Through ICM Assistance in Bali Province. Rice commodity assistance program is a strategic approach to increase rice productivity through Integrated Crop Management (ICM) to support sustainable agriculture. The study aimed to determine the agronomic performance of several high yielding varieties (HYVs) of rice and to increase farmers' income through mentoring programs ICM. The research was conducted using HYVs display locations in 9 districts/city in 2014 Bali Province. The study involved 45 respondents before and after ICM by taking 5 people from each regency/city using stratified random sampling method. The data of the collected agronomic components were analyzed using the diversity scheme (ANOVA). Costs and farm income were analyzed using analysis of income and financial feasibility. Agronomic performance of several high yielding varieties (HYVs) of rice on ICM mentoring program were different according to varieties and types of land agro-ecosystem. The analysis showed an increase in productivity with the implementation of ICM average of 1.30 tonnes/ha RHD increased by 24.82%. Rice farm income per hectare after ICM of 17.209.704,00 IDR and before ICM 12.644.656,00 IDR or increased 36.10%. The results of financial analysis indicated that the farming system was feasible to be developed with R/C after ICM of 2.94 and before ICM 2.53 or difference by 0.41. Rice farming is expected to implement ICM in order to support sustainable agriculture.

Keywords: rice, ICM, high yielding varieties, income

Research was conducted in Subak Guama, Selanbawak Village, Marga District, Tabanan Regency from January up to April 2017 and Subak Dlod Sema, Sading Village, Mengwi District, Badung Regency from January up to May 2017. This study aims to understand the growth, productivity and resistance to brown planthopper pest in superior rice varieties cultivated in Bali Province, Indonesia to substitute Ciherang variety utilization. Research were arranged by using Randomized Block Design with some superior rice varieties as treatment namely Inpari 30 and Inpari 40 for research in Tabanan Regency. And also, Inpari 16, Inpari 24, Inpari 28, Inpari 30, Towuti and Situ Bagendit for research in Badung Regency. Meanwhile, Cigeulis and Ciherang were utilized as comparison. Each of treatments were replicated for 5 times. Variable observed consisted of performance of agronomy and productivity namely plant height, number of tillers, number of grains per panicle, 1000 grains weight and yield. Besides that, resistance to brown planthopper pest also observed by evaluation of damage per plant caused by brown planthopper with using six scale standard of scoring. Results showed that Inpari 40, Inpari 28 and Situ Bagendit were resistant to pest of brown plathopper according to their percentage damage were 1%; 9% and 1% with scoring rate were 1; 3 and 1 respectively. Inpari 40 and Inpari 30 can be considered as candidate to substitute Ciherang according to their agronomy performance and productivity in Bali Province were closest similar to Ciherang variety meanwhile Inpari 40 was most suitable to substitute Ciherang variety according to its agronomy performance, productivity and resistance to pest of brown planthopper.
