Current era is called era of internet technology. Internet provides platform where various channels are just one click far away. The core aspire of this research study was to explore internet use for educational learning targeting public universities female students belonging to Punjab Pakistan. The study recorded student's internet usage pattern, level of usage, preferred viewing sites, favorite visiting sites, and most usage time and core reasons of using internet. It also analyzed demographic information of respondents such as hostelries or home, class and urban or rural areas. The study crossed checked the opinion regarding internet usage as well as demographic characteristics. The data was collected using survey methodology. A total sample size of N=1157 respondents were taken from six selected public sectors universities with highest student statistical rate using multi-level sample technique. The collected data was analyzed using SPSS and study focused how female university students think about internet as a medium of educational learning at undergraduate, graduate and postgraduate level. The study concluded that internet usage is more common and is the source of inspiration among female for educational learning and enhanced learning trends and searching educational content. Using internet causes dual learning i.e. educational and technological for female and due to multimedia content, internet is a more effective source of learning for female than text books.
This research is designed to explore the impact of Pakistani dramas of the private channel on Pakistani women. To witness various effects caused by dramas, detailed research is carried out. To gather and document the perceptions of the female viewers of Rawalpindi and Islamabad, a detailed questionnaire was prepared. Through a sample of 300 respondents, data was collected from people of different age groups, educational background and occupational groups. The perceptions of viewers about the various content in dramas showed that private channels provide a lot of content for entertainment, education, comedy, information, serious, horror, emotional and musical content. Overall, it was observed that Geo TV dramas provide the content mentioned more frequently than Hum TV and ARY Digital. The study concludes that there are significant changes taking place in all the mentioned domains. The degree to which private channels display different lifestyles was another important variable of the study that has been discussed for so long, but it was observed from the finding that dramas of private channels promote multiple lifestyles (Western and Indian) on an equal basis.
This study has investigated the problem of finding the impact of social media in adoption of new trends of visual arts on established visual artists of twin cities and also how social media facilitates in disseminating new techniques of visual arts among the art practitioners. The aims of the research were to investigate the impact of social media in adoption of new trends of visual arts among established visual artists, and also to evaluate the existing techniques of visual arts through diffusion innovation model among the established visual artists. The researcher has conducted interviews of established visual artists, questionnaires were also furnished. The stakeholders were practicing field visual artists (studio based) and visual art educators (art teachers). The result concluded from the present study was that adoption of social media has a positive significant relation with adoption of new trends of arts and impact on the skills of artists whereas adoption of social media has a negative but significant relation with use of social media.
This study explored the perception of women regarding the portrayal of women as a victim in private TV channels i.e. ARY Digital, HUM TV, URDU1, and GEO entertainment. The 200 questionnaires were distributed among 100 housewives and students. It was a survey-based research study. The data for this study is collected from Rawalpindi and Islamabad only. Research findings showed that the respondent prefers watching females in a more independent, self-sufficient role. The outcome of the study showed disapproval on behalf of respondents towards TV dramas that are depicting women as submissive, helpless, and dependent individuals. The study concludes that the drama industry should adopt a more balanced approach in personating female characters and should depict a true picture of society rather than exaggerating. Respondent showed interest in plays that have been painting females as bold, confident, ethical and pro religions. Whereas disproving stereotypical character given to women and women objectification.
The study aims to investigate the governance issues during regime of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) from 2013 to 2018 in the lenses of the English Pakistani newspapers. The sole purpose is to examine that how the newspapers framed the general issues, as it is showing the performance of the government. The research design was a quantitative content analysis method and analyzing frames "Good" and "Bad" in perspective of Agenda setting level 2 "Framing Theory". All news stories related to general issues were published in the selected Pakistani English newspapers from the (2013 to 2018) that has been analyzed. The census method applied to investigate the problem. The finding of the study revealed that the socio-economic development was not priority of an elected government and opposition parties hindered democracy by engaging it in an adversarial politics with the traditional political style. Moreover, elected democratic government was unable to uphold its pre-election promises.
