The purpose of this research intended to compare two tools used for teaching and learning in the process of English test preparation for vocational higher education students. Online social learning platform as the tool for experimental group and e-learning for the other group. This intention happened based on the need analysis in internal environment of State Polytechnic of Batam. The researcher found the urgency of English certificate as diploma supplement which is determined by Indonesian government, in this case the institution implemented TOEIC certificate. Most of the students still cannot meet very well the standard of graduation from vocational higher education, about 49.23 % of students are still included into intermediate level and the rest are elementary and novice level. Online social learning platform was funded by the institution, it was suggested as the alternative for the lecturer to prepare the students in English test and also can be accessed by the students independently. This research involved 4 groups of students from Informatics Department with 2 levels of class namely intermediate and elementary level. In intermediate level, the results showed that there was significantly increased with value was smaller than 0.05 meant that experimental group had better score than control group. In contrast, for elementary level, it was found that there was no significant difference between the students who were taught by using e-learning and online social learning platform.
Acceleration of food self-sufficiency, especially rice, can be performed by providing optimal means of production, mechanization, technology, and intensive assistance to farmers. In order for these activities to be successful as expected, the government has intensively involved various parties to provide escort and assistance. One of the factors that determine the success of escorting and mentoring farmers is the involvement of agricultural extension agents. The speed of application of technological innovations and the way of working in agriculture can be channeled properly through extension activities. “Jajar Legowo” rice planting system is one of the innovations in the rice planting model. This system has been being implemented intensively in Pagung Village, Semen District, Kediri Regency. The successful application of “Jajar Legowo” planting system was the object of the study, especially in terms of the involvement of agricultural extension agents in assisting farmers in this village. This research employed descriptive quantitative and qualitative methods through survey. In addition, the research also utilized descriptive analysis and scoring through a Likert scale approach and simple linear regression. The results revealed that the role of agricultural extension agents was quite successful in encouraging farmers and their groups to apply the “Jajar Legowo” rice planting system.Percepatan swasembada pangan, khususnya padi dapat dilakukan dengan menyediakan sarana produksi secara optimal, mekanisasi, teknologi, dan pendampingan petani secara intensif. Supaya kegiatan tersebut berhasil sesuai dengan harapan, pemerintah secara intensif telah melibatkan berbagai pihak untuk melakukan pengawalan dan pendampinga. Salah satu faktor yang menentukan keberhasilan pengawalan dan pendampingan petani adalah dengan melibatkan penyuluh pertanian. Karena kecepatan penerapan inovasi teknologi maupun cara kerja di bidang pertanian bisa tersalurkan dengan baik melaui aktifitas penyuluhan. Sistem tanam padi jajar legowo merupakan salah satu inovasi dalam model penanaman padi. Sistem ini mulai dilakukan secara intensif di Desa Pagung Kecamatan Semen Kabupaten Kediri. Keberhasilan penerapan sistem tanam jajar legowo menjadi obyek dalam penelitian. Terutama dalam hal keterlibatan penyuluh pertanian dalam mendampingi petani di desa ini. Penggunaan metode penelitian yaitu secara deskriptif kuantitatif dan kualitatif melalui teknik survei. Selain itu juga menggunakan analisa deskriptif dan skoring melalui pendekatan skala Likert dan regresi linier sederhana. Hasil penelitian mengungkapkan bahwa peran penyuluh pertanian cukup berhasil dalam mendorong petani dan kelompoknya untuk menerapkan sistem tanam padi jajar legowo.
Tanjung Bemban is one of the seas found in the Nongsa sub-district, Batam city which is currently developed as a tourist attraction. This research aims to find out the hydro-oceanographic component, which consists of tide and the current and wave pattern in the sea of Tanjung Bemban Nongsa. To collect the data regarding tide, Tide Pole method, using measuring sign, is used, To collect data of sea current, Float Tracking (Lagrangian) method, by measuring distance and displacement of floating objects in the sea, is utilized, To collect the data of the wave, Wave Pole method, by measuring wave height, is employed. Based on the result of the research, it is clear that the tide of the sea is categorized as the semi diurnal, since there are two tides in one day with identical height, which occur sequentially and regularly. The highest flow reaches 260 cm and the lowest ebb 19 cm in the 4 days of observation, with 15 minutes interval. The measuring of ocean current is carried out for every 30-second intervals. Current velocity in Nongsa sea ranges from 0.02 m/s to 0.26 m/s. The current moves from east to southwest and west, even though some move northwest and north. Wave height is quite low, between 18 cm and 23 cm. Hydro-oceanographically, the Tanjung Bemban Nongsa area can be developed into a strategic tourism area
Jamur kuping (Auricularia aurilajudae) merupakan jamur potensial sebagai bahan makanan dan berkhasiat obat. Pengembangan jamur kuping menguntungkan karena tingginya permintaan dan harga jual yang tinggi. Permasalahan dalam budidaya jamur kuping salah satunya adalah komposisi media tanam yang berpengaruh besar terhadap produksinya. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui komposisi media tanam yang terbaik bagi produksi jamur kuping. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode Rancangan Acak Lengkap (RAL) dengan satu faktor yaitu komposisi media tanam (serbuk gergaji 1000 gr dan cocopeat 200 gr; serbuk gergaji 1000 gr dan bekatul 200 gr; serbuk gergaji 1000 gr, cocopeat 100 gr dan bekatul 100 gr; serbuk gergaji 1000 gr, cocopeat 135 gr dan bekatul 65 gr; serbuk gergaji 1000 gr, cocopeat 65 gr dan bekatul 135 gr. Data dianalisis menggunakan analisis varian dan uji lanjut Beda Nyata Terkecil (BNT) taraf 5% apabila hasil signifikan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa komposisi media tanam berpengaruh sangat nyata terhadap jumlah tudung, luas tudung, berat basah, dan berat kering jamur kuping. Namun komposisi media tanam tidak berpengaruh pada kecepatan laju pertumbuhan miselium. Komposisi media tanam terbaik untuk produksi jamur kuping adalah serbuk gergaji 1000 gr, cocopeat 65 gr dan bekatul 135 gr.
