Chronic backache (Lumbar pain) manifests a clinical picture leading to serious problems for patients and normal population. Due to the contraction in either one or both of the sagittal and transverse width of Canalis vertebralis, medulla spinalis and cauda equina is found to be under compression. Our study is aimed to determine and put forward some of the morphometric values of bony tissues belonging to the lumbal region. 70 patients with ages ranging between 20 to 80 (35 females -35 males) were included in the study. Corpus vertebrae anterior height (CAY), foramen vertebrae sagittal diameter (FSÇ) and foramen vertebrae transverse diameter (FTÇ) were measured and recorded in our study.We believe that the values determined in our study will contribute to the reference values laid out for Turkish population.

The internal carotid artery is terminal branch of the communican carotid artery and runs a straight course to the base of the skull without branching. It was reported anomalies and variations in the course of the internal carotid artery in literature. These anomalies were classified as elongnation, kinking and coiling. Coiling of internal carotid artery is a rare anomaly. In our case there was a coiling. Such anomalies are known to impair hemodynamics. At the same time it is too important the morphologic differences for surgical procedures.We believe that our case will contribute to the literature.
