ABSTRACTThe main objective of this academic work was to gather significant data found in literature about the learning theory that reinforces the use of games in Science Education, taking into consideration that the practice of games may help the teaching process of specific concepts in the area. It was observed that games may be used as pedagogical intervention at schools, helping to improve the relationship between teacher and students. In addition, we verified that games help and ease the process of learning once they make use of signs useful to the formation of critical thinking and are closely connected to the culture and to the society to which they belong, not being able to be separated from them. The process happens in a creative, pleasurable, interesting and motivating way.
