The Effect of Spiritual Support on Anxiety Levels of Pre-operative Patients. Anxiety is an emotional response to the subjective judgment of individuals, influenced by the unconscious and not specifically known to cause. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2007, the United States analyzed data from 35,539 surgical clients treated in the intensive care unit from 2003 to 2006, of which 2,473 clients (7%) experienced anxiety conditions. The results of Masood Jawaid's research, et al. (2006) found that average respondents in a state of moderate anxiety as much as 57.65. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of spiritual support on anxiety levels in pre-operative patients. This study was Quasi-Experiment with one group pretest-posttest design, sampling was using purposive sampling technique. Sample amounted to 16 respondents, population amounted to 325 patients. The Data collection tool was using a questionnaire sheet. The statistical test was using Wilcoxon test. The average yield of anxiety prior to therapy spiritual support was 49.88, with a standard deviation of 6.449. While the average anxiety after the therapy spiritual support was 46.81 with a standard deviation of 6.002. The statistical test result showed that p-value = 0.001, there was an effect of a spiritual support therapeutic to the level of anxiety of patients pre-operation at Imanuel Hospital Lampung Year 2017. This study suggested therapy for spiritual support as nursing care in patients who experience anxiety.
The target becomes a self-reliant village must be accompanied by strengthening village ability in supplying the basic needs independently. Vegetables are one of the crucial basic needs to achieve a healthy and prosperous society. The demand for vegetables in Sungai Bawang Village, Kuantan Singingi Regency, is constrained by the available land for vegetable farming. Hydroponic planting system offers the technique without soil that can be implemented anywhere. It has added value in providing clean and hygienic vegetables. Hydroponics technology system of Deep Flow Technique able to provide water and oxygen for plants and suitable for leafy vegetables. Hydroponic is appropriate to be implemented in Sungai Bawang village and did not require huge land in applying this technology. The mentoring strategy is carried out by counseling and demonstration of direct planting stages and the practice by the community. This activity gave a positive influence on the community as well as many people who want to apply this technology. This was the first step in increasing the income of the community, especially farmers. And for the community in general, this technology facilitates the people to get vegetables easily at an affordable price.
One of the evaluation standards given by the National Council of Teachers of Mathematics (NCTM) is mathematical disposition. Disposition refers not simply to attitudes but to a tendency to think and to act in positive ways. Creative thinking disposition is the tendency to thinking and acting creatively in mathematics. The aims of this research is to determine the effect of mathematical habits of mind learning based on problems toward the students' mathematical creative thinking disposition. This research was conducted at one of SMPN (Junior High School) Padang Ratu, Indonesia. The method used in this research is quasi experiment with posttest only control group research design. The population of this research is 214 students. The sample of this study is 70 students at grade VII which consists of 36 students in experimental group and 34 students in control group. The experimental group was taught by mathematical habists of mind learning strategy based on problem and the control group was taught by conventional learning strategy (teacher centered). The sampling technique used is cluster random sampling. The instrument used to collect data in this research is questionaire checklist to determine students' mathematical creative thinking disposition. Data analysis used in this research is t-test. The results showed that students' mathematical creative thinking disposition which is taught by mathematical habits of mind learning strategy based on problem are better than the students which taught by conventional learning strategy. In future research, we recommend to use the mathematical habits of mind learning strategy based on problem in learning process to increase student's creative thinking disposition.
Abstract. Fatonah, Hamidy R, Mulyadi A, Efriyeldi. 2021. Floristic composition and stand structure of mangrove forests with varying vegetation conditions in Sungai Apit, Siak, Riau, Indonesia. Biodiversitas 22: 3972-3983. Mangrove forest in Sungai Apit Sub-district, Siak District, Riau is one of mangrove ecosystems that is still partly natural with some parts being damaged or rehabilitated. Degraded mangrove forest is a mangrove forest that has been disturbed by human activities and natural factors. This study aimed to investigate the floristic composition and stand structure of trees and seedlings in mangrove forests in Sungai Apit, Siak District, Riau Province, Indonesia in three vegetation conditions, i.e., natural, degraded, and rehabilitated forests. Line Transect Plot Method was used to collect data in three stations (i.e., Rawa Mekar Jaya, Sungai Rawa and Mengkapan villages) where each station consisted of three transects with a size of 10 x 100 m. A total of 20 species belonging 11 families were recorded in the studied sites with Rhizophora apiculata was the most dominant species in all forest conditions. The natural forest had the highest number of species followed by rehabilitated forest and the degraded forest. Stand structure in terms of tree density, mean diameter of mangrove trunks, and basal area differed significantly across the three vegetation conditions with the natural forest had the highest values followed by the rehabilitated forest, while the degraded forest was the lowest. For the seedling, the lowest number of species was observed in the degraded forest while the highest was in the rehabilitated forest, indicating the result of rehabilitation activities. Yet, seedling density in natural forests was lower than that in rehabilitated and degraded forests. This study provides information that differences in structure, species composition and recruitment of seedlings in mangrove forests in the three conditions and locations can be related to differences in recovery time and degradation levels which may be important for developing mangrove forest management and conservation strategies.
Inflammation in hemodialysis patients occurs since before undergoing hemodialysis. Inflammation is associated with an increase in oxidative stress. Hemodialysis patients are at risk for macronutrients and micronutrients deficiencies which can influence the increase in oxidative stress and inflammation. The purpose of this study was to evaluate the intake of micronutrients and inflammatory status in hemodialysis patients. This study was a cross-sectional study with 76 hemodialysis patients (40 male and 36 female) who attended in two hemodialysis centers of Kendal, Indonesia. After obtaining the written consent, then patients were interviewed food intake consisting of macronutrient and micronutrient intake. Macronutrient and micronutrient intake are obtained by the semi quantitative food frequency method and classified as a deficit (<100% adequacy level) and normal/ more (≥100% adequacy level), according to specific recommendations for individuals undergoing dialysis. Serum albumin was examined using the Brom Cresol Purple (BCP) method with a low category (<3.5 mg.dL-1) and normal (3.5 – 4.5 mg.dL-1). The hs-CRP serum was examined using the ELISA method and categorized as low (<1 mg.L-1), moderate (1 – 3 mg.L-1) and high (> 3 mg.L-1). A descriptive analysis was performed. The results of this study showed that 88.2% deficit energy intake, 84.2% deficit protein intake, 85.5% deficit of vitamin A intake, 85.5% deficit of vitamin C intake, 100% deficit of vitamin E intake, 98, 7% deficit zinc intake , 92.1% deficit copper intake. 63.2% subjects are low level of serum albumin and 61.8% subjects is high level of hs-CRP serum. Macronutrient and micronutrient intake in most hemodialysis patients shows deficit. The serum albumin of most hemodialysis patients shows low level. Serum hs-CRP most hemodialysis patients show high level.
