Background One of the psychological benefits of breastfeeding for mothers and infants is to get the satisfaction of breastfeeding. Maternal breastfeeding satisfaction derives from the interaction and cooperation between mothers and their babies. This research aims to identify the maternal breastfeeding satisfaction and its influential factors. Methods This study applied a cross-sectional design. Two hundred four breastfeeding mothers after four until 8 months postpartum were recruited using cluster sampling methods. Respondents completed the questionnaire of Maternal Breastfeeding Evaluation Scale (MBES) to identify maternal breastfeeding satisfaction. Factors affecting maternal breastfeeding satisfaction were identified using the following instruments: Breastfeeding Knowledge Questionnaire was used to identify knowledge on lactation, Infant Feeding Attitude Scale (IIFAS) to identify attitude toward lactation, and the Breastfeeding Self-Efficacy Scale-Short Form (BSES-SF) to identify breastfeeding self-efficacy. Result We identified that 53.4% of the breastfeeding mothers had a high level of satisfaction. The results indicate that the household income, type of delivery, and breastfeeding self-efficacy was associated with breastfeeding satisfaction ( p < 0.05). Breastfeeding self-efficacy is the most influential factors in maternal breastfeeding satisfaction (OR=16.64; CI 95% 7.65–35.94). Conclusion Breastfeeding satisfaction is the satisfying feeling obtained during breastfeeding resulting from cooperation between the mother and the infant to fullfil desires or needs. Education and promotion of breast milk and breastfeeding provided by professional healthcare providers encouraged the successful of breastfeeding programs. Assistance by a health care provider or breastfeeding counselor during the seven contacts breastfeeding initiated during pregnancy until after delivery should be applied so that the mother is informed about breastfeeding. Breastfeeding satisfaction can keep the mother from continuing to breastfeed her baby for up to 2 years or more.
Anemia in pregnancy is a major concern of health problem during pregnancy, as it is associated with the increase of maternal and infant morbidity and mortality cases. Multiparous pregnant women have a higher risk of anemic during their pregnancies. The nurse specialist of maternity has the crucial roles to help multiparous pregnant women with anemia in filling their basic needs due to various nursing problems. Methodology in this article used the case studies approach on seven multiparous pregnant women with anemia. Several nursing issues emerged are the risk of injury both to the mother and to the fetus, dizziness, limited activities and limited knowledge of anemia. The self-care theory focused on an individuals' ability to fill their self-needs by paying attention to the level of dependent care. The application of self-care theory is suitable for multiparous pregnant women with anemia as it helps them to be independent patients. Nurses may use the Orem framework as a guide in conducting the nursing process.
ABSTRAK Kegawatdaruratan merupakan hal yang penting untuk dipahami dan juga diketahui oleh masyarakat umum. Pondok pesantren merupakan lembaga yang masih kurang tersentuh oleh kegiatan kesehatan, sehingga perlunya suatu pelatihan kesehatan terutama terkait hal yang dasar yaitu pengukuran tanda tanda vital dan juga Bantuan Hidup Dasar (BHD). Pelatihan ini di fokuskan kepada pembuatan kader kesehatan remaja santri di Pondok Pesantren Al Istiqomah Bandung dengan memberikan pelatihan dan workshop pengukuran tanda tanda vital dan Bantuan Hidup Dasar Awam. Metode pelaksanaan kegiatan pelatihan ini dilakukan secara offline kepada santri dan santriwati ponpes Al Istiqomah sebanyak 55 orang selama 3 minggu dengan ahad pertama pemberian materi pengukuran tanda tanda vital (TTV) dan bantuan hidup dasar (BHD) awam, diminggu ke 2 yaitu workshop terkait aplikasi TTV dan BHD kepada kader santri dan santriwati kesehatan sebanyak 12 orang, kemudian di pekan ke 3 dilakukan pembuatan posko kesehatan santri laki laki dan juga santri perempuan. Setelah di lakukan pre test dan post test terkait aspek pengetahuan di dapat rata rata post test 41,73 dan rata rata post test 53,36. Adapun hasil Pelatihan sesuai prosedur SOP pre test dan post test di dapatkan 26,25 menjadi 83,75. Selain itu hasil pelatihan dan pendampingan langsung terkait Apliaksi BHD di dapatkan pre test 26,25 dan post test 83,75. Pengabdian masyarakat terkait dengan pelatihan dan workshop pengukuran tanda tanda vital; Tekanan Darah, Suhu, Nadi, Pernafasan dan juga Bantuan Hidup Dasar Awam sangat di perlukan untuk remaja santri pesantren untuk di jadikan sebagai kader kesehatan di pondok pesantren. Selain itu, pentingnya pendampingan dan observasi dalam pembuatan posko kesehatan yang berbasis pesantren ini. Di harapakan peran serta dari Institusi Pendidikan kesehatan/perguruan tinggi dan juga pemerintah khususnya puskesmas untuk melakukan pelatihan kepada pesantren dan pembuatan posko kesehatan santri di pondok pesantren. Islamic boarding schools are institutions that are still not touched by health activities, therefore, there is a need for health training, especially related to basic things, namely engraving vital signs and also Basic Life Support (BLS). The training focused on making adolescent health cadres at the AL Istiqomah Islamic Boarding School Bandung by providing training and workshops on measuring vital signs and basic life support for the layman. The method of implementing this training activity is carried out offline to 55 students and santriwati of Islamic boarding school Al Istiqomah, for 3 weeks, with the first week providing material for measuring vital signs and basic life support (BLS), in the 2nd week, namely workshops related to applications. TTV and BLS to cadres of students and health students as many as 12 people, then in the 3rd week the construction of a health post for male students and also female students was carried out. After the pre-test and post-test related to the knowledge aspect, the post-test average was 41.73 and the post-test average was 53.36. The results of the training according to the SOP pre-test and post-test procedures were obtained from 26.25 to 83.75. In addition, the results of training and direct assistance related to the BHD application were obtained for a pre-test of 26.25 and a post-test of 83.75. the results of community service related to training and workshops on vital sign engraving; Blood Pressure, Temperature, Pulse, Breathing, and also Basic Lay Support are very much needed for young Islamic boarding school students to be made health cadres in Islamic boarding schools. In addition, the importance of application, assistance, and observation as well as the creation of health posts requires assistance in order to maintain the activity the pesantren-based health post. It is hoped that the participation of health education institutions/universities as well as the government, especially the health center, is expected to conduct training for Islamic boarding schools to be used as health posts for students in Islamic boarding schools.
