Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan: 1) validitas perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan, 2) kepraktisan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan, 3) keefektifan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan, 4) peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan, 5) peningkatan self-efficacy dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang dikembangkan, 6) mengidentifikasi proses jawaban siswa dengan menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran berbasis masalah yang telah dikembangkan. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian pengembangan (research and development), produk yang dihasilkan adalah rencana pelaksanaan pembelajaran, lembar aktivitas siswa, buku petunjuk guru, dan buku siswa.Pengembangan perangkat pembelajaran berorientasi model pembelajaran berbasis masalah dikembangkan dengan menggunakan model pengembangan Four-D dengan 4 tahap yaitu: define, design, develop dan disseminate. Subjek dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa kelas VIII-A dan VIII-B di SMP Islam Terpadu Nurul ‘Azizi Medan. Dari hasil ujicoba I dan ujicoba II diperoleh:1) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria valid, baik dalam validitas isi maupun validitas konstruk. 2) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi kriteria praktis, 3) perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan memenuhi criteria efektif, 4) terdapat peningkatan kemampuan komunikasi matematis siswa menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan, 5) terdapat peningkatan self-efficacy siswa menggunakan perangkat pembelajaran yang dikembangkan, 6) proses jawaban pada ujicoba II lebih banyak memperoleh kriteria penilaian “baik”. Proses jawaban siswa pada ujicoba II lebih terstruktur, sistematis, serta sesuai dengan indikator kemampuan komunikasi matematis.
Thesis is a very crucial thing because the thesis is an indicator of the understanding of the knowledge they apply, because the thesis is a requirement for graduating students from a college so that the thesis is very important to do. The difficulties faced by students in the process of completing the thesis often have a negative impact. Writing a thesis is viewed negatively because it is a tough task for students and it can be stressful. There are many things that can be done to help anticipate and reduce the stress problems faced by students who are preparing their thesis, one of which is a sense of humor. Humor can trigger the laugh reflex, and laughter can also be the best medicine for dealing with stress. This study aims to determine the effect of a sense of humor on self-stress in students who are writing a thesis at the Faculty of Psychology, University of North Sumatra. This is quantitative research is influential. The samples taken in this study were students of the Faculty of Psychology of North Sumatra who were compiling a thesis, so the sample in this study was 83 people. Based on the results of the regression analysis, it shows that the value of the determinant coefficient (R2) is 0.102 and it is explained that the percentage of the influence of the independent variable on the dependent variable is called the coefficient of determination which is the result of squaring R. This means that the sense of humor provides an effective contribution of 10.2% to the self-stress experienced by students who are writing their thesis. While the rest is influenced by other factors not examined. Based on the table above, the significance value of the sense of humor variable (p = 0.000) is smaller than 0.05, meaning this variable has a significant effect on the dependent variable, namely self-stress. It is also found that the regression coefficient is -0.421, the number is negative, so it can be said that sense of humor (X) has a negative effect on self-stress (Y). The calculation results obtained the value of F = 4.881 and p ( Sig). = 0.033. If the p-value < 0.05 then the hypothesis is accepted (Field, 2009). In this study, the p-value (0.033) <0.05, the hypothesis is accepted.
Student engagement is characterized by the success or failure of students in learning. Student behavior in learning activities also shows student engagement on campus. Student engagement aspects consist of three dimensions namely behavioral engagement, emotional engagement, and cognitive engagement. The purpose of this study is to identify whether there will be a difference in student engagement between Javanese and non-Javanese students who study in Malang. This study used quantitative approach. Subjects involved in this study were 160 students from Javanese and Non-Javanese ethnicity who are studying in Malang. The criterion used in determining the subject is their status as students. The scale used to measure the student engagement level is the SESQ (Student Engagement Schools Questionnaire) scale. The result from independent sample t-test has a probability value of 0.908 which means p <0.05, therefore, no difference in student engagement between Javanese and non-Javanese students who are studying in Malang.
Character is a foothold of knowledge and skills. Knowledge and skills without the right personality foundation will be misleading and destructive. The character in the form of personality is owned through the educational process. The role of the teacher helps in shaping the character of students by providing examples, ways of speaking or delivering good material, tolerance, and various other related matters. The researcher uses an approach method with training activities in this community service. The conclusion stated that this training was quite successful where the trainees were very enthusiastic in training activities, this was also because each teacher had never received socialization from the government regarding government policies by providing Strengthening Character Education in Schools.
This study examined the implementation of peace education to reduce bullying among vocational high school students. This research was conducted at the Vocational High School in Langkat, North Sumatra. The study population consisted of 118 students who had been victims of bullying. Quantitative data were acquired from students using a questionnaire. The collected data were analyzed using the t-test in SPSS software. The results showed that the data in the study were normally distributed and met normality and homogeneity tests. The results of the hypothesis testing indicate that it affects peace education positively and significantly. This research makes a significant contribution to tackling bullying practices among high school students to create efficient learning conditions and a healthy student mentality.
