Latarbelakang MasalahEksistensi topik kenyamanan thermal pada dunia arsitektur adalah hal yang sangat disadari bagi para arsitek dan pekerja ilmu dunia arsitektur. Tugas pokok dan mendasar dari sebuah bangunan adalah tugas sebagai wadah aktivitas. Dalam hal ini bangunan harus memberikan perlindungan terhadap tekanan luar dan dapat memberikan kenyamanan agar aktivitas dalam bangunan berjalan dengan maksimal. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Course Review Horay (CRH) method of the social sciences learning achievement of 5th-grade students with visual impairment of SLB A YKAB Surakarta. This research is an experimental research of pre-experimental type research in the form of one group pretest-posttest design. The population in this study are 4 5th grade students of visual impairment in SLB A YKAB Surakarta. Data were analyzed by using non-parametric analysis Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test (Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test). The results showed that the average value before using CRH method was 10, while the mean value after using the CRH method was 40. Based on the results of the study, it can be concluded that the Course Review Horay method is effective to improve the social sciences learning achievement 5th-grade students with visual impairment SLB A YKAB Surakarta.
The paper discusses the politeness strategies conducted by teachers of autism centre in Surakarta in supporting them doing their jobs effectively. They are professionals who care and treat children with autism for their cognitive as well as psychomotoric development. Data were collected from four learning processes performed by four different female teachers with a different child for each. The analysis was carried out to see how politeness strategies selected by the teachers help them in performing effective assisting and learning process for the kids. The results show that politeness strategies were conducted by the teachers in two modes—verbally and non-verbally. They were exploited to accommodate the skill transfer to the children with autism effectively. The autism condition of each child governed each teacher to select the types of the politeness—in which bald on strategy dominated the exploitation, followed by positive and negative politeness. In addition, no teacher chose off record strategy for her class. This exploitation is considered effective due to the exceptional condition of the children. Clear and direct utterances which encourage their self esteem are good choice for them. Such utterances in that features can be accommodated by those three types of politeness strategies in either verbal or non-verbal mode.
The paper discusses non verbal behavior performed and exploited by a teacher of children with autism as part of multimodal interaction in transferring knowledge. Data were collected from one teaching session carried out by a teacher and five children with autism. Data in the forms of body language, facial gesture, proximity, kinesics and other aspects of non verbal behavior were collected from such a session. The results show that strategies in exploiting non verbal aspects of the interaction are influenced by the autistic conditions of the children. As each of students in the class has different conditions, the teacher should design different non verbal approaches in transferring the knowledge to the children. In general, the teacher always equipped her utterances with body movements, facial gestures, standing position as well as paralinguistic resources such as intonation and loudness of speech. The strategies are performed to support the verbal behavior the teacher has in the teaching session and both represent multimodal interaction in the session. It is expected that the results of this research can be good benefits for other teachers or parents of children with autism in the process of assisting the children.
